Fix for Canon Printer Offline on Mac (SOLVED)

Why does my Canon printer on my Mac always go offline?

Does your computer have trouble recognizing the printer? Even after a reset, are you still having problems with the Canon printer offline Mac issue? Therefore, it is imperative that you understand how this issue originates in order to prevent a future recurrence.

If your Canon printer is showing as offline on your Mac, there are a few steps you can take to try and fix the issue:

  1. Make sure your printer is turned on and connected to your Mac. Check the USB cable or Wi-Fi connection to ensure it's properly connected.

  2. Go to the Apple menu and select "System Preferences."

  3. Click on "Printers & Scanners."

  4. Select your Canon printer from the list on the left-hand side of the window.

  5. Click the "Open Print Queue" button.

  6. Click the "Resume" button to clear any paused print jobs that may be causing the offline status.

  7. If your printer is still showing as offline, try resetting the printer's printing system. Right-click on the printer in the Printers & Scanners window and select "Reset Printing System." This will remove all printers from the list, so you'll need to re-add your Canon printer.

  8. If the above steps don't work, try deleting the Canon printer and re-adding it. To do this, right-click on the printer in the Printers & Scanners window and select "Delete." Then click the "+" button to add the printer back and follow the prompts to set it up.
