My first was dead when I got it, the second had that fan noise, and my current is flawless.
That's exactly what was wrong with my second one.
Did you get the 256gb version? If so, which drive did you get in it? I've had 3 RBS now, 2x 512 4k and now a 512 13.3 and they all had the 961...
I have a 12.5" going back for that exact reason. I also have a 13.3" that doesn't make those noises at all so it's definitely a defect of some kind.

They already have an NVME drive in them. It's the default Windows driver that causes the slow write speed.
You need to install the Samsung NVME driver to get the full write speed.
