Decided this morning that I'd give Synapse another try after a few months without...

YAHTZEE!!! Got it up and running without any kernel panic or errors thrown regarding other kernel extensions

    Here's how you do it:

    1.
Install Synpase 1.72.10 from the support page. (while it only mentions compatibility with macOS versions up to, and including, 10.12 - it's gravy)

    2. Go ahead and unplug all Razer products from your laptop/desktop.

    3. Install Razer Synapse and agree to restart.

    4. HERE'S THE KEY: Synapse won't turnover by just opening the Razer Synapse.app, you need to open /Library/Application Support/Razer/RzUpdater

    5. Synapse fires up and requests user login. From here.. pretty self-explanatory.

    6. whatever you do DO NOT UPDATE SYNAPSE, you'll send your efforts swirling as it locks up at 50%.

  2. How can I prevent the driver from updating? They just released v1.73 now and the notification to update just keeps popping up. It's super annoying.

    That,
    A fine question.

I expected the same, but as long as I leave the pulsing explanation point-emblazoned button alone: no issues.

Initially, I, the same as you, was assaulted by the messages as well. Once I'd plugged my mouse directly into my box rather than a USB hub, they lightened up.

    I can't confirm causality, but ... o_O

    I think I've got it:

    I switched to offline mode.

Select your username, and then "Go Offline".

Synapse still works, no messages molest.

Not sure if this will work, but try popping Synapse into offline mode as soon as you open it. If it hasn't registered that there's an update yet, and it's not connected, maybe it won't tell you.

By the way, are you talking about a window, or just the little glowing exclamation mark in the corner?

  5. Hi PTSinger, thanks for your response. I was talking about a notification bubble that keeps popping up every now and then saying that an update is available. It's not even a standard MacOS notification, so I can't disable it from the System preferences. Anyway, I didn't know that there was an offline mode as it's not very obvious in the app UI but managed to find it and it seemed to have worked! Thank you so much for your help!!

I can't seem to get the install to finish (though I can't find 1.72 so am using 1.73). The install stops on the last step with the summary screen showing "The Installation failed.". While the app is in the Application folder, it won't run and crashes with no message on the screen. I am running High Sierra Beta 17A306f. Any ideas?
