You need a Display Port cable for anything above 60hz.

144Hz needs a DisplayPort Cable, HDMI only carry's up to 120Hz. What do you mean it is only running at 40Hz? Did you set it to run at 40Hz?

You need a DVI cable or a Display port cable to run more than 60 hz, the only difference is that Display Port can reproduce sound.

The human eye can't see more than 24.5 FPS. That's why it reports a difference but you don't see any difference.

HDMI 2.0 can run up to 120 Hz.
I heard about it too, but I’m seeing definitely the difference between 30FPS and 60FPS, did i misunderstanding that meaning? I had 144Hz and playing 4K 30FPS on PS Pro, it feels laggy to me, prefer 1080p 60FPS, or 4K 60FPS;)

For movies nowadays, most of them are around 24-25 fps but we did not feel like it is missing frame because it got something called "motion blur". I know, I know, most of the game also have the "motion blur" in graphic setting but it doesn't seem to help me to game on low fps.WHY?
That's because a movie motion blur is specifically edited by professional. Motion blur in game is just some algorithm running in the PC which may not perfect.

Correct me if I am wrong.

I see @MaximumBunny is maybe talking about movie one, I was thinking about gaming.
About Motion Blur, I personally like it since it feels more realistic and softer to my eyes (I kind like to see around area when gaming by off ing it sometimes my eyes get quickly tired looking on backgrounds scenes). It also depends on your graphics card, if you’re already on low FPS I think turn it off won’t make a big difference, even I think vram reduce when you turn it off. I was gaming on MacBook Pro with hd Graphics so I had a bit low specs gaming experience before.

Ya,because movie is at a constant fps.But when you gaming on low specs gaming rig,the fps go up and down so you are definitely missing frame. So,ya motion blur not gonna help.
But what I want to say is motion blur can smooth out the entire video by tricking your brain.

    Preystation and ARMOR_152 like this.

And once you get over a 100fps in racing games and FPS's you'll think 60fps looks bad and is annoying:big_grin_:

Did you changed settings in the control panel?

    And what GPU you have?

You also need to check your Nvidia (if you have an Nvidia card) settings on the control panel to make suer the screen resolution is set to what ever the size and 144hz. i Had this problem when i first made a computer.
    Hope this helps.

Probably 24.5 FPS is calculated through statistic on human population. As you know, there is always a chance to meet tall people. So, why not for a people who can see 144Hz and 240Hz difference (this case 30Hz and 60Hz)? Btw, statistic is what I learnt from university.

For me, I can see 30FPS and 60FPS different. 60 is way more smoother.

Hey! I feel the same as well... 30FPS is too laggy for me too.

Look in display settings in windows or nVidia/AMD settings

I can compromise on Nintendo platform but not on my PC or PS 4 Pro (even some games like uncharted has only 30fps but 4K and games content made me can accept it somehow).

It's probably because you installed the drive incorrectly and it's just that. I used to be like that, but when I found out and thanks for some help found the cause was I installed incorrectly
