Now that the 2016 Blade Stealth has shipped, it seems appropriate to ask what you hope to see in the next revision.

For me personally, the Stealth is pretty near perfect from a hardware perspective. That said, I really wish it had 16GB of RAM. I know that 8GB just isn't enough for the things I do. I think anything to make it lighter would be great. Maybe substitute carbon fiber for aluminum? It would look just as premium and perhaps less of a fingerprint magnet. Smaller bezels would be nice too, but don't sacrifice that amazing 4K display for it. Oh, and good Linux support. Knowing it works well with Linux, including the Razer Core would be a really big plus for me.

For me, all I would ask for is 16GB of RAM. The Stealth is already lighter than anything other ultrabook on the market. Although, using carbon fiber may not be such as bad idea since the aluminum casing seems to get dirty very easily.

Honestly, I really think a better CPU with top of the line Iris graphics would be my #1 wish.

If this Stealth had that, it would be much more of a gaming machine. Just adding 8GB of RAM would still leave us with a pretty slow CPU...

I've got the XPS 13 6560u coming to me later this month. I hope to find out if it performs well or just can't handle the heat.

  6. I wish that they would release a Blade Stealth, but as a Macbook Pro killer instead of Air. I enjoy doing heavy gaming, and I would love a thinner laptop with a dedicated graphics card

That's pretty much the Razer Blade.

That is the Blade 14".... it's literally 1.2 inches longer and wider than the Stealth.

    You got your wish :)

I totally forgot to mention my #1 request for the 2017 Stealth, which would address the battery life and gaming issues...

    A 1080p screen.

This...I also don't understand touch screens on laptops without 2-in-1 capability (this does not mean I want a stealth 2-in-1, it means I want a non-touch screen).

    My perfect Stealth.
    • Touchpad similar to a Surfacebook or Macbook
    • 16GB of RAM
    • 1080P non-touch screen
    • A couple more Type-C connectors
    • Thin the borders of the display
    • Possibly a 4 core CPU (see things I don't want to change first)
    • Battery life (probably helped some by the display choices
    • Maybe a dual link connection for TB3 so you can turn what's essentially a 4x PCIe connection into an 8x. (not sure this is even possible)
    • Kill the full sized HDMI port, this is useless if you have more TB3 connectors.
    Don't change these.
    • Capable of being charged by the Core (this HAS to stay, you have to be able to charge this as if the Core was a dock)
    • No hybrid graphics, keep the integrated Intel graphics (see above charging requirement)
    • Form factor and overall size.
    • Under no circumstances should you ever add an RJ45 jack, VGA, DVI, DP, miniDP or serial port anywhere.

    This. Always...

And perhaps slightly more stock available at launch? I understand proper inventory planning, not wanting to end up with too many unsold products, etc - but since when has a Razer launch system NOT been sold out and backordered for at least a month?

Here in most countries in Europe (like Poland) it still isn't available :slightly_sad:
But about quality, that's true, they should work on it. I saw few topics where people got problems with hinges, razer logos etc. :) And not least but the most important - battery life :)
  13. I'm more so hoping that they continue to update it this year, which I assume they might, but with the Core for the Stealth, it kinda seems like they've forgotten about the Blade as an all-in-one gaming laptop

Lol... What makes you think this at all?

The only delay in announcing new Blades for 2016 is that Razer is waiting for the nVidia announcement of the new Pascal graphics cards.

    Patience, my friend.

The CPU suggestions above will massively increase the price, knowing Razer. They will really stay with the U series, that's normal.

    My suggestions are:
    • Just 8GB RAM is enough, but make it upgradeable.
    • Non-touch display, nobody uses that.
    • Matt screen, please NOT a glossy mirror like it has now.
    • Keep the price low like it is now.
    • Improve your warranty policy. (Replacing SSD will void the warranty, really?)
    • Test the Stealth more for flaws before releasing it, I see too many horror stories on this forum, with no official replies. (I know it's not a support forum, however Razer should really be careful with those topics and issues.)
    • Fix your international release issue, it's a major flaw that Razer fails to launch their products internationally without 'discrimination'.
Razer cloned the Apple MacBook, now they only need to clone their product launches and support/warranty. Then it's perfect :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

    • Upgradeable 8GB RAM
    • 1080p Full HD display - this is a strong point if one is to maintain high battery life, optional touch display, matte too.
    • SD card slot so I can expand that SSD with a fast SD card of my own
    • Smudge resistant coating from the BW 2016 on the cover

I love the idea of the stealth but there are a few things that need to be changed to get me to purchase one for myself.
    1. It needs more than 8GB of RAM
    2. A quad core CPU (I am saying this knowing it will heavily impact battery life, so it is a conscious trade off IMO). Some games require a quad core CPU, even when attached to the core, where you get a more desktop like system, but the CPU in the stealth serves as a major bottle neck to the experience. In addition, the newer high end CPU's have amazing integrated graphics for very light editing or gaming, when you are on the go and need something to kill some time.
    3. Basically all the ports should be thunderbolt 3 ports. I understand this couldn't happen this year due to it being new technology, so it has not yet become the standard, but when it does, it will be amazing to have one port (but many of them, no going all apple on us) that does everything and then you have no wasted ports because they are all multi purpose.
    4. No more bezels that obnoxiously large. Razer should make the display larger if they want to keep the size of the notebook, the outcome would be something like the very cool Dell infinity displays.
    5. A Razer Blade 14 style touch pad. I have owned Mac's, Blades, XPS's and Surface tablets and the Blade 14's touch pads are hands down my favourites.
    6. Place the speakers above the keyboard. They look silly, squished on the side in the current design.
    7. Try to find a coating to put on the Blade that hides finger prints, it is said in every review, unboxing, first look etc... everyone is on the same page they drive you nuts.

Overall, amazing idea! Keep up the cool ideas and try to add as many of these suggestions as you can!

A lot of ideas here are really good, but I'm still confused at people who are still clamoring for a quad-core CPU on the Stealth. The Stealth is already handicapped on battery life compared to its competitors. I would say it is probably the weakest in that regard, followed by the ginormous bezels on the Stealth.

Most importantly, the Stealth is an ultrabook. The Intel's own definition of "ultrabook" states that the CPU must be a low-power CPU, which therefore by definition, excludes quad-core CPUs.

If you want a portable laptop that has a quad-core CPU to go along with the Core, and care not for battery life, then it's very clear that you don't want an ultrabook like the Stealth. Get a Razer Blade 2016 or later.
