So Synapse 3 updated again this morning and now the lighting on my Huntsman Elite cannot be adjusted and it is not even seeing my keyboard/mouse pad. What the hell razer how is it you guys have had this software in beta for so long and cannot get it working right? I am starting to regret spending all the money I did on my razer setup at this point. I sure will not tell anyone to buy any razer products until they get this all working correctly and stable.

    So steps this morning
Booted up and all was great, razer update notice and updated Synapse 3.
Rebooted and lighting frozen 1 color.
Tried to go in and adjust lighting and nothing works. Pad also not showing. My mouse and gaming keyboard on Synapse 2 are both working great.
Uninstalled Synapse 3 along with Chroma and Hue. Rebooted.
Downloaded and installed Synapse 3 from razer web page. Rebooted and lighting still not working. My keyboard looks like it is in the wave profile I picked but colors are frozen and not changing.
Rebooted again and still no change and cannot adjust it. Keyboard/mouse pad still not detected.

Oh and it is telling me to update again. May as well as it is already broken.

    Brandon

OK so 30 minutes of messing with it again and now it is working.
    Steps to fix it.
    Uninstalled Synapse 3.
Uninstalled Chroma SDK -reboot required and uninstalled Chroma SDK completely this time.
When thru all folders and deleted anything I could find for Synapse 3, Chroma and Hue.
    Rebooted again.
Installed Synapse 3 from current download (Again) and have version 3.3.918.91818 installed. While installing I unselected Chroma, Hue and macro so they were not installed.
Rebooted and now my keyboard and pad are working and changing when I make changes.
Saying no to updates from now on until they finish this program.

On near future try to reinstall windows i have a felling you can have some sort of conflict between synapse and windows it hard to tell specific with what but this solve all of tour problems without repeting the same issue again.

Sorry that is not going to happen. My windows install is 2 months old on a new clean hard drive. I have been a software engineer for 22 years and if I told people to reinstall windows to fix issue with my software I would be out of business. If there is a conflict, razer should have built in debugging code to track it down or log what is going on. Reinstalling windows is not an answer for an issue that is only happening 1 one piece of software.

In previos post you dont write in what situation lightning on your devices stop to work only this you update the synapse next thing is i dont know if you install something before or not, how long your windows work. what softwere tou use or you update the softwere before the issue and the same with windows if you update or not or drivers for your other hardwere are many things that case issue. Mayby youy have a error in synapse registry or file was broken it's hard to say when you write minimal info. Remeber one thing no one on forum can see your pc from internet and anwser is based on info you can provide.

The situation that the lighting stopped working is all of them. I could be just sitting at windows with nothing else running and I cannot change the lighting at all. No response to anything.
As for the update and if anything else updated the answer is this. I had just booted up and everything was fine and Synapse told me it had an update so I installed it and when it was done all lighting stopped working.

Now new problem. Lighting worked great all weekend and now I boot up this morning and I have no lights at all on my Synapse 3 devices. Nothing updated it was just shut down last night working and now this morning it is not working again.

I do not have HUE or Chroma installed.

Chroma it's the module witch set-up lights between devices if you have more then one device this can case an issue if tiy dont gave it. You can also try to uninstall synapse delete files witch saty on your hard drive and install again but between uninstall and install reboot your pc other wise files stay in cash. Also if have another pc you can cheack if everything works there in this way we see if this is hardwere or softwere issue.

I did the uninstall along with cleaning the registry of any left over entries and removed all left over data files and program files. Rebooted then reinstalled. I did all this before.
Currently I have removed the USB switch that everything was connected to and I'm connected directly to the computer. Some times the lighting works fine and some times not at all. This morning I booted up and it was working great. Had not started any programs and I walked away from the computrer and when I cam back the lighting was frozen and no longer working.
So I have 4 razer items, Keyboard, wireless mouse, gaming keyboard and mouse pad. 2 items are running on Synapse 2 and 2 are on Synapse 3. The 2 on Synapse 2 always work and give me no problems. The 2 on Synapse 3 work now and then. Really crap when you spend all this money on this stuff and razer cannot supply you good software to make it work. Should have saved money and headaches and gone with Logitech.

Try to connect your synapse 3 to another device like pc or notebook and install there synapse softwere my gess is you have conflict with drivers. This can froze lights and block give errors with comunication between devices on system. It's hard to say what exacly is cause this but try to connect first to other pc then if everything is working as should be you can uninstall drivers and check when issue go away. I have simmular problem but with nvidia driver on my monitor i use 100hz for a long time one day it lower it to 86 and there was no way to change it and i try this way on the end the issue was coused by nvidia new driver i dont know why but lower hz. I know your pain i have multiple razer devices and recently i buy nommo pro for 500 euro. Synapse 3 is at beging beta stage not for use but for development and it's for 2 years it is joke but what you do ;/

I use my computer for work everyday so taking keyboard and stuff off yo put on other computer is really not an option and my only other computer is an older laptop. I did think about do it but decided against it.
So I went a couple days with the lighting just frozen in a multi color pattern. Not changing just lit and stating there. Could not change it. So today I decided to install the Chroma module and now the lighting is working again. So we will see how long this lasts.

If you dont want to fix this problem you can do nothing it's your choise but why you write a topic looking for help and when someone want to help and give a multiple and simple way to cheack where you have this issue you just say i cannot loose pc. Yes probly if you unplug the usb cord your pc blowup ;/ I say only this if you dont want help good luck and best to solve this.

Finding out if it works on another computer is not going to fix my problem on the computer I use. So lets say it work on another computer then what? Start deleting programs on my computer until razer works? That is not a solution that is a shotgun approach and again if I told my business customers to do that I would be out of business, Currently it works about 20% of the time and will come and go during the day with no clear reason why. I run the same programs everyday and it does not change when I start or stop any of them.

Yes chack on abother pc help you know why ? becose you know it's not a hardwere problem like error on pcb witch you cant do anything on your own. Next thing is not program caouse this but probly driver so i dont understand your post. It can be driver of motherboard or error in netframework mayby you are missing windows softwere. Do whit this what you want. I qish best to solve this.
btw. I work on pc too but first priority for me is fully working workstation. Errors and other issue over time can give huge problems so this is my way. good luck.

The fact that the lights work fine some times and not at all other times you can eliminate missing software or drivers. If they were missing it would never work. Because I'm a software engineer my .Net Frame work is always up to date and fully installed. 2 month old install of Windows 10 1803 version. My motherboard, CPU and Memory (MSI Z370 Carbon Pro, i7-8086, 32gb DDR4) are about 6 months old and do not give me trouble. New RTX 2080 XC Ultra video Card. I'm running 5.5TB of SSD drives M.2 and 2.5 version. All drivers and bios are up to date and current.I have not had a single system crash with this computer sense it was built. Every other program I have installed works fine and I'm on this computer 12-20 hours per day everyday. So if there was a problems with something missing, not up to day or corrupted I think it would show its self in some other program that does a lot more than just run LED's which is not rocket science. If I had all the API's for this I would just write my own program to run all my razer devices myself, I have done LED programming before and as I said it is not hard. I'm going to go with it not being a hardware problem either has bot pieces that are being run with Synapse 3 are failing at the same time not just one of them. Putting these parts on my clean laptop and seeing they work is only going to tell me that Synapse 3 cannot play well with other programs. I have uninstalled and cleaned all traces of razer software again and reinstalled it again and again it is working right now but we will see how long it lastrs this time as the last time I got it working it only lasted about 4 hours then stopped. By the way my other LED programs work just fine, Thermaltake Riing, EVGA Precision, Synapse 2 and Logitech. And no those are not the problem as I uninstalled those to see if that fixed my problem and it did not. They too have been reinstalled and all working again.

So I found that I can my Synapse 3 fail every day if I install the MSI Mystic LED app to control the RGB lighting on my motherboard. I do not really need this light control so I have uninstalled it and my Razer lighting has been fine for a few days now. I have even put my USB switch back in and my Keyboard, Mouse and pad are all plugged into it and working fine. So if anyone is having problems and they have mystic installed I would try uninstalling mystic to see if your problems go away. I found this fix by checking logs and running a couple traces. Not by reinstalling windows or moving everything to another computer.

Please look at my response in this thread. This one genuinely isn't a Synapse fault (or a bug at all). ;)

Great info thank you. I did not even know that Mystic LED linked into Chroma. I will reinstall it tomorrow and give that fix a test.
