Any Razer keyboards that are really, really quiet?

    I've got a Razer Blackwidow Ultimate BF3 Edition and, while I do love it to bits, I've been more of favor of reducing the amount of noise it makes whenever I start to play videogames due to my sudden interest in YouTubing/streaming.

    Does Razer have any products that have really quiet keyboards that are mechanical or are they just slightly more quiet?

    It is to my Knowledge that the Stealth of the Blackwidow editions are a little bit more quiet. I'm not 100% on that though. There most quiet keyboard would be the Deathstalker though. Hope it helps !

    The Deathstalker isn't mechanical though, right? Looks like I might have to look elsewhere :'( .

    Really Really quiet? the next best thing would be the stealth version, otherwise you should probably check somewhere else.

    Orange switches sound(stealth) :

    I have the Blackwidow and Orbweaver Stealths. Nothing about them is quiet, haha. Razer kayboards are all comfy, but none of them are quiet.

    The razer stealth edition is supposed to be the quiet keys. Basically just look for brown keys if you want lower sound.

    I've been using the Razer Blackwidow 2012 for nearly 3 years & it finally got to my parents with the clicking (actuation response) at 3 or 4AM in the morning.

    I switched to Razer Blackwidow Stealth not more then 2 weeks ago & it's a considerable difference. Primarily that the Stealth doesn't have what we call the actuation response (the loud clicking sound you hear on the 2012 Blackwidow, to notify the user that the key has been pressed/registered).

    I would recommend going to your nearest PC store and trying it out for yourself. The arrow keys are open for trial & feel while in the box.

    Otherwise if you go outside the realm of Razer, aim for Cherry Brown switches or Black (the most quietiest).

    Blue = Razer Blackwidow 2012
    Red
    Brown (Said to be a mix of blue and red)
    Black (These could get expensive and are said to be difficult for those that type a lot, as it registers the key press very early, so typists first trying out a Black switch tend to double key a letter often).

    Hope that helps.

    ^ What Philak just said. Get O-Ring dampeners. A lot cheaper than buying a new keyboard.

    This guys is right. I don't know much about the difference of every switch, but if you look a little bit on google about mechanical keyboard switch you will be able to find the best kind of switch for you.
    Two little question for you :
    1. I find this to be really interesting. Do you know how hard is it to add the rubber ring on a razer keyboard ?
    2. Do they fit with razer keyboard ?

    very easy and yes they do, the actual connection where the keys join to the board is pretty standard.

    Well, thank you.
    I will probably purchase these.
    My friend will be really happy to not hear me type like a monster when we are on skype :)

    I am using the Stealth at work and it's pretty quiet; not silent though.

    I have the Blackwidow ultimate and orbweaver stealth. I love them, but when I am in a room with other people that use normal keyboards the reaction is always "why are you typing so loud?!?!"

    Get this complaint all the time! Thanks for starting the thread, will probably pick up some dampeners so my friends don't make fun of my key mashing :oops:
