Is No Hero Academy that good? Have heard about it too much from friends.
  5. is a good anime, if you have not seen it I recommend it, at least the first 2 seasons are great, this 3rd one is a bit boring but keeps the thread

I will suggest Psycho-Pass! It's cool I think you will enjoy if you are into crime and stuff.

Death Note, i enjoyed it a lot, even watch it a 2nd time. And Naruto was like really good for me, but it's quite long regarding the episodes but if you got time you can try it, trust me, it's awesome.

Fullmetal alchemist brotherhood is objectively one of the best anime ever made.
    Cowboy bebop

Comedy : Sakurasou no pet na kanojo, Chunibiyo, Nichijou

Shonen : One piece, my hero academia, gintama

Police/mystery: Monster, terror in resonance, erased

Mecha : Mobile suit gundam, code geass, eureka seven, neon genesis evangelion

Fantasy: Akame ga kill, re zero (personally didn't like it that much, but many people do)

Slice of life : Aria the animation, Mushishi (absolute masterpiece), Natsume yuujinchou (Natsume and mushishi are fantasy too)

Romance (these are really good) : Your lie in April, clannad (and its sequel clannad after story)

Two amazing movies are Your Name (kimi no nawa in japanese) and A Silent Voice (koe no katachi in japanese)
    Wolf children is nice too

ALL THE GHIBLIS are absolute masterpieces and every single one of them deserves to be seen.
The fate series are nice (Fate zero is great, I didn't like the others that much but many people do)

    The monogatari series are nice

and the tatami galaxy if you like eccentric if you like weird but great shows

Off the top of my head... Steins;Gate, One Punch Man, Hellsing Ultimate, Ghost in the shell (has multiple movies/tv series, all of which are great), if you like Cowboy Bebop also check out Samurai Champloo, Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor (gambling/game theory), Monster

My personal favorite anime is Samurai Champloo but if I were to recommend some anime for a more general audience, I would recommend:

    Dragon Ball Super
    Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
    Code Geass
    Great Teacher Onizuka
    JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
    Made in Abyss
    Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica

There are more but here are some of the easier anime to get into. Fate/Zero and JoJo start a bit slow though but gets really good later on.

Depending on how "old" you want to go, some of my favorite are Gundam Wing and Neon Genesis Evangelion! Both are mech related. Evangelion requires more paying attention tho!
