Appreciation Sales and Captcha on Checkout

  1. I have a strong feeling that some are using scripts to take advantage of big sales. These scripts can hit the server several times faster than any human giving them a big advantage. This is what people do with other limited edition sales and script makers even sell them for $50 because it pretty much guarantees they'll get the item before anyone else.

To prevent these cheaters, scalpers, whatever you want to call them from taking advantage of these sales and bulk buying half the store with a script, should captcha be added to the checkout process?

I thought that's why everyone had a code from Insider last time? I may be wrong though..

  3. Right, but it's not hard to create 100 insider accounts and then generate 100 codes.

Buying in bulk shouldn't be a problem, as they said it was one shipment to each address. Any orders past the first one was canceled

This has its positive aspects but also negative.
Think about all the people typing wrong the chaptcha because of the rush and wasting their time.
