Bad sound in Tiamat 7.1 V2 on a Asus Xonar DSX 7.1

Hi! I recently upgrated my headset from a Kraken 7.1 V2 to a Tiamat 7.1 V2, I wanted to experiencie a real 7.1 audio. I purchased a Asus Xonar DSX 7.1 too for the headphones.

I used the Kraken 7.1 V2 the last year and a half and it was very amazing experience, mainly in Battlefield 1.

So the problem is that I'm very lost about how I can configurate de Xonar DSX Audio Center or other requiered software to get a good sound experience.

My doubt is if anyone knows what is requiered to configurate de Tiamat 7.1 V2 or if there are any Thread in this forum (or others like Reddit) with a good explanation about how to configurate propertly the Tiamat 7.1 V2 step by step.

Thank you;)

Hi @ninjo99, there really isn't much configuration that you need to do. You just have to make sure that you plug in the 3.5mm jacks of the Tiamat 7.1 V2 to the color-coded ports on the ASUS Xonar DSX. Other than that, you'll want to go to your game settings and ensure that surround sound is enabled.

I can experiencie a good sorround 7.1 but with a poor audio. It sounds better in Dolby Demos than games, but there is no good audio in both situations.

By the way, I'm thinking that the problem it could be the Sound Card, its a old model and the software doesn't have many options like the Strix.

At this moment I'm exchanging emails with Razer Support to solve this. But I think I will save money to buy the ASUS Strix RAID DLX.

For now, the best way to test audio quality is to plug it into a smartphone. Test each of the speakers on the headset one at a time while listening to music or gameplay videos. By the way, have you tried tweaking your sound card's EQ settings? Everyone has preferences especially when it comes to sound so I highly recommend fine tuning yours.

So yes, I plug it into my phone while I was watching a battlefield 1 gameplay and the sound is bad too 😞

Can you describe what "bad" is for you then? By the way, where did you get the headset from? Do send me a PM with your serial number so I can validate the warranty status of the headset.
