    Hi folks!
My Basestation Chroma just arrived a few days ago and I wanted to share my thoughts with you. Maybe this can help if don't know whether you need it or not.
I'm EU based if this matters for you.

    Razer Basestation Chroma
    Price: 74,99€

This new Headset stand is made entirely out of plastic. It comes in two pieces that are easily assembled . The surface is rough and has a nice matte finish all around. The "base" below the has the razer logo on it. The big USB cord comes out the back and feels as high quality as all other razer cables. Overall this thing feels well built and sturdy.

On the bottom front there's three easily accessible USB-A ports. Below these and all around (except for the back) is the Chroma lighting.

For configuration of said chroma effects you need the Razer Synapse 3 software. To my knowledge this sadly means it doesn't sync with devices connected to Synapse 2. I suppose this is just a matter of time until we're all Synapse 3.
Configuration is easy and allows for many effects with 15 LEDs you can edit.
The standard effects include: breathing, fire, spectrum cycling, starlight, static and wave. Especially starlight looks gorgeous!

    So is it worth it?
I haven't been with razer for too long, but I just love chroma on everything. The Basestation is a great visual addition to my setup while also finally giving my headphones a place to hang around.
If you have the spare money I'd recommend it in a heartbeat.

All I need now is razer headphones.

What's your opinion? Do you already have your own or are you still considering?

Congrats on your acquisition and thanks for putting up your experience. I'm definitely interested in it since I've seen it. I'm primarily on a laptop most of the time, so I have legitimate use for a nice USB hub to compensate for my growing Chroma collection's plug needs.
Interesting to know it's restricted to Synapse 3, but as you said, it should be a moot issue with enough time.
In the meanwhile, I'm hoping they will put it up on the zSilver store for me to get it that way.

If you ever feel like putting up any video of it, I'd be especially keen to see that new Starfire option.

It's too expensive for something with a limited use like this, it's an easy DIY thing, rgb leds are cheap, so you can buy something more usefull at this price, not worth, at least not at this price, maybe with some discount

I thought it was a nice edition and I bought it as well. Since I bought it, the only flaw I'm noticing is the slight delay of mouse action here and there , if plugged into the base station. I have a stealth so only two ports provided.

Damn, a delay? Wonder if that can be fixed in any way with drivers or Synapse. Have you submitted a bug report?

I'm sure it's an easy fix. It's nothing huge I assure you. I wonder if the USB 2.0 ports that the base has and transferring the signal has something to do with it? (kinda just made that up) but really though, I've noticed it only a a few times now when it was a delay of the action after pressing the button on the mouse. Probably some drivers or a simple update that can fix that issue. Otherwise, no complaints. I think its a nice edition to anyone's setup.

@TreadLife and any interested others... my video of the Base Station Chroma, with lighting options: Static (green); Breathing (green); Spectrum Cycling; Starlight (green); Starlight (random); Wave (clockwise).

Edit: please excuse the rotation, I thought I'd corrected it before upload but I guess not.
Also in regards to lag/delay, I can't say that I have noticed any.

Here's some more of the effects, in darkness.

Nice visuals! Wonder if they will eventually be able to make any older devices perform starlight.

Starlight is also on the Ornata, not sure about others. From what I have seen about Synapse 3 it may well be the case as individual LEDs can be selected and controlled.

I have 2 of them on my table and i noticed that they won't sync their lighting effects at all. One of them is wave and the other is simple spectrum cycling. Even if i unplug one and do the effect i want individually, they reset when plugging both in.

Razer's major issue is their software development process, it needs major help because there's so many bugs even in Synapse 3. And don't even get me started on Synapse.

The past few days my chroma devices has been flashing and updating quietly or something, no notification. Just act like they've being updated.

I want to get one, I have the old, non-usb/chroma one. But it's made out of plastic? that's disappointing. I like the Aluminum. For the price I'd have hoped they'd be the same material.

I really would like to own one, but I already have their metal headset stand and everything is plugged in to the back of my PC with the cords hidden in my little "cord cubby" on the back of my desk. I can't quite justify making the purchase yet.

One thing about it that interests me most though, is that I do have to keep unplugging my Orbweaver Chroma and then putting it back in later because I share it between my PC and my laptop depending on what I'm playing. So, something like this would mean I'd never have to disrupt all the rest of the cabling just to move that around, and that would be really nice.

Please take note there’s an issue when you have base station chroma and the chroma HDK

You will be unable to configure the hdk settings in synapse3

I uninstalled synapse 3, just needs some work.
