Basilisk v2 Not Recognized

I recently got the Basilisk v2. Most of the time, I've been really enjoying it. However, many times when I start my computer, the mouse will remain dark, and not respond to inputs, no mouse movement on screen. Unplugging the mouse and plugging it back in, or restarting the computer, fixes the issue so the mouse works again.

I've got to wonder, is this a normal thing? I've never had an issue like this with a mouse before, and it seems like it's some problem with the mouse and I should return it.

Yeah sounds like you may have a faulty one. I would most likely go exchange it at the store u purchased it from and see if it happens with exchanged one. Unfortunately, sometimes theres a bad one in a bunch, especially with mass produced goods (its happened to me with laptops, keyboards, mice and other goods in the past... but luckily does not happen too often!)
Thanks, LiLmEgZ. I'll go ahead and return/exchange it. I suspected that to be the case, but considering I had been using my last mouse (Naga Hex) for about 8 years, I figured I should at least ask.

Yeah most shops are glad to help you exchange a faulty item for one that actually works as long as you have all the parts that came with it in the box still (so they keep good reputation and all as a reseller). Otherwise I am sure you could probably contact Razer if they didn't wanna cooperate ;)

I know the Best Buys in my area will def help you get a working product regardless of what the product is since its part of their company policy too
True, considering the current pandemic going on and therefore not wanting to go out except for essentials, I got it from Amazon, which has great return policies as well, so no problem there.

You can try two things on your end to fix the issue:
- Remove the driver for your mouse in "windows device menager" next unlug the mouse and restart the pc if the driver is the issue when pc start and you plug back mouse will install new fresh driver.
-Update the mouse driver "you can probly find it in razer support page" or you can ask via chat support sometime firmware on mouse can be faulty and give you simmular issue.
