Blackwidow Elite lighting in macOS High Sierra

  1. I have a Mac that dual boots between macOS High Sierra and Windows 10.

The lighting on my Blackwidow Elite works perfectly in Windows 10 under Synapse 3.

But the keyboard isn't recognized by Synapse 2 in macOS.

This would be no problem at all -- I do all my gaming in Windows, and the keyboard itself functions great in macOS -- except I hate the default lighting scheme with its gradually-changing colors, and this is what the keyboard reverts to whenever I boot into macOS.

I tried putting a simple static white scheme directly on the keyboard's memory, but it didn't work -- even onboard schemes need Synapse 3 to be usable, it seems.

I've also tried completely wiping Synapse 2 from macOS and reinstalling. No dice.

All I want when I boot into macOS is for the keyboard to stay static white. I don't need to have any customization or controls in macOS. Is this possible at all?

Unless they add it to the list of supported items in Synapse on Mac OS, no. You CAN put in request to have it added to the list - just do it as a feature request.

The current list of supported peripherals is here.
  3. Makes sense. What's the best method for submitting a feature request?

Well, it used to be as simple as clicking on the gear icon in Synapse, and then clicking "Submit Feedback". I say used to because when I click on that button now, nothing happens. So I guess the best method for me would be in the support forum here on Insider.

Try the "Submit Feedback" button in Synapse, first. If it works for you, then it's probably a bit more direct.
  5. I'm having exactly the same issue in the macOS version of Synapse. But I'm still able to submit feedback in the Windows 10 version of Synapse 3. So I just made my request that way.

I too have this problem -- I would be interested to hear who decided that a colour cycling pattern was a suitable 'default' to have -- I'm sorry, but that is just crap!

I have the same problem as you - the default is junk (colour cycling). The best I have managed is use the keyboard controls to turn the brightness down to almost nothing, then the cycling isn't too bad.
