My friend and I have the same 2019 Blade 15 with 8th gen i7 and 2060 graphic cards. In Cinebench R20, he would get over 300 points more than mine in every mode and his laptop would run 10 Degree hotter than mine. His laptop stays in higher frequency longer than mine does even though both are power limit throttling. Why is that happening? I tried undervolting on both using throttlestop and his laptop got 2900 pts in Creator mode and mine got 2600 pts.

For reference - Balanced mode - I get over 1800 pts and he gets over 2000 pts.

It could be different bios/synapse version that let your friend runs longer on hot temperatures resulting better score, or maybe better cpu silicon, even same every CPU has different character, every cpu has different undervolting value or performance on such benchmarks but on real use case like gaming they might be similar. For your information I scored also once 2900 on same 8750H (2018 gtx1070maxq model), but sometimes recently it was 2600 on gaming mode (there’s no creator mode on 2018 model, however gaming benchmarks like 3Dmark and Shadow of the tomb raider showing similar FPS. I would prefer actually cooler system than better 300 point on cinebench or 3Dmark, i don’t think it will make noticeable FPS difference on gaming not sure on rendering works though, but I think it’s similar with gaming won’t be a day night difference. Lower performance on laptop isn’t always a bad thing, beside it’s cooler that means longer parts lifespan it might also translate to quiter system, because hotter system might push the fans working harder.
Yeah, I agree with you. I was just wondering why mine would throttle down with just 65 to 70 Degree with 40.5 W.
