Blade Base 2018 - Speakers buzzing, RMA or Return?

Hello,

Razer support couldn't help me, the updates did nothing after fresh installing windows. Now they want me to contact amazon.

There's buzzing in my left speaker with audio playback, slight buzz in the right, when I slide the windows volume slider in the bottom right of my screen, its even more noticeable. Anything over 50% is ridiculous.

Should I return back to Amazon or RMA? I'm starting to think all razer laptops have speakers like this.

Thanks!

Try updating audio drivers from vendor or try using the audio related drivers from support website? I have currently Blade stealth 2016 and Blade 15 2018, none of those have audio issue. I saw some rtx 2019 model user has that but i think it’s solved by updating audio driver.

I updated with recovery from razer and used their driver, and then we updated straight from the intel website. Still buzzing. Also when I press down on the left speaker, the buzzing is 10x worse. Pressing on the right speaker does nothing, so it seems like its busted

Sounds RMA to me, maybe you got defective unit.
Left speaker buzzing AGAIN. Is this just the product and I'm being too picky? Cant imagine the 3rd one being better. Maybe have Razer send one themselves? There's no way I'm dropping 2800CAN with warranty, + another 1000 for a 2tb PCIe ssd and 32gb of RAM. Videos below:

I asked this to fellow that work on music world. Listened on his SE425s. It could have been one of three things: 1) something is loose near the grill and rattling slightly, 2) the volume is too high for that particular driver and distorting it as he listen, or 3) you tried to blast something super loud right off the bat and it actually damaged the cone (copy pasted from his answer mostly:smile_:)
That’s from pro viewer from me as Blade user since 2015 model, don’t expect too much super audio quality from Blade 15 2018, 2019 rtx maybe you can due new quad upfront speakers compared to older dual. From sounds quality I can say late 2016 stealth kick Blade 15 2018 in the ash, and in fact I heard as well that Blade 2016 and 2017 sounds are better. You have to note as well that Blade 15 form factor is really compact that they can say the most compact gaming laptop which is true even there’s thinner gaming laptops but they’re wider and bigger and lack some important port like TB3. This shrink down form factor may effect the device sound quality.
Me personally rarely use Blade speakers over 70%, I use nommo chroma for listening crazy sounds or gaming it’s way better imo.

I didn't break anything, it's the standard windows 10 icon sound. It almost seems like the tweeter is in the left speaker and the sub in the right. Maybe something is loose. The quality is good enough for me, but the buzzing is ridiculous and is noticeable 60% volume and up. Macbook airs are even slimmer, and the audio is phenomenal. Anyway I have 20 days left with amazon warranty, going to run some software audio tests before RMAing it to Razer and losing all refund possibility 🙂
Hi...do you get speaker buzz when you play stuff loudly? It depends on what I'm listening to, but if I max out the software volume, then have more than four or so squares, I get an annoying buzz sound which is definitely not part of the music. Kinda like something in my computer is rattling around

Yes and at like 50% volume, and it's worse than rattling. I think this model would have the rattling either way, but mine is worse
