  1. Hey, I have been using my razer blade GTX 1060 at school for a while now, and I recently did a reset (keeping personal files but removing apps and settings), this seems to have shortened my battery life drastically. On the power saver battery option, along with battery saver enabled, I only get about max 4 hours of low usage with chrome and Microsoft word. I have disabled Cortana, do not use the keyboard lighting on battery, have set all intel options to power saver and set the NVIDIA panel graphics processor to intergrated.

Any help getting the promised 7+ hours out of this thing would be greatly appreciated.

I was in the exact same situation as you.
What really changed it for me was turning off fast boot, hibernate and using the least amount of applications as possible. Example, I really enjoyed having temperature monitoring applications, but it turned out that they consumed a lot of battery life.

Do you have skylake or kabylake model? I second what @PedoBen said, disabling fast and hibernate helped my skylake model.....something with the hibernation file, when it wakes from hibernation the consumption goes up significantly, from average 12mW to over around 20mW. Install BatteryBar Pro to monitor the discharge rate, very helpful.

@vistar I have the early 2016 skylake model. I have seen my discharge rate as low as 7mW, my display and keyboard lighting are both at 50%

Same here....what I posted was more or less averages.....and to show that something is up with hibernation, because when it wakes it sucks up a lot more juice.

  6. Fast boot is already disabed /: I don't have many applications running, I usally just have Word, Chrome and a VPN software, along with the NVIDIA / INTEL programs and razer synapse.

I have the Skylake version btw

    Any other ideas?

I installed battery bar pro, my average discharge is around 12,000mW, that sounds pretty awful compared to what you're getting

@ThatAlbinoFrog I mean, if your discharge rate is 12,000mW and the battery of the razer blade is 70,000mW.
You should definitely be getting more than 4 hours.
    Did you disable hibernate?

  8. In battery options, I have disabled hibernate and fast boot. And on battery bar, on 100% it says I have approx 3 and a half hours left. Any ideas?

Heres an image of my battery bar -

  9. Have you updated your Skylake Blade 2016 GTX 1060 with the firmware updater for the fan curve? We had reports that it helps with the battery life as well.

I would also suggest disabling Bluetooth if you are not using it, it can help in prolonging the battery life as well.
  10. Already disabled bluetooth and installed the fan curver /:

I really need a fix for this

@ThatAlbinoFrog , in BatteryBar, in preferences, disable use statistical time estimation, then it will show time remaining based on current consumption like the one in windows, just easier to see if you get 5-6 hours if using the laptop very lightly.

Hm, try contacting our support team at so they can check the battery on your Blade.
  13. Changed that option, avg discharge about 15,000 and about 4 hours usage

After RMA my blade 2016 with GTX1060 and the same battery issues they changed the Motherboard but nothing has changed. I noticed if I boot without the AC charger and go first to bios, and load the Defaults than my battery life is about 7 hours. After reboot it's only 3:50 hours. So every time I'll use the blade on battery I have first go to bios and load the Defaults. At the Moment I wait for the answer from razer. I send them all informations, screenshots and Videos I've made. Propably you can try it and if this temporary helps, please send your information to razer, too.

@eddy_mc , disable fast boot in windows (not in the Bios) and in power options, advanced options, under sleep, set hibernate after to 0 (never)....see if it helps.

Which display version do you have? 4k or 1080?
  18. This only started happening when I reset my blade, which is very similar to your RMA story. Thanks heaps, but how do I load defaults in bios, I can't find the option.

I have the skylake 970m blade and I'm blown away by the battery life this thing has. I can take notes for 9hours straignt using edge as a pdf reader, microsoft word and one note, and still return home after 9 hours with 30% or more to spare. My advice would be stop using chrome when on battery and try using Edge.
  20. When I do a clean boot (all services disabled) I still only get about 3 hours, so the running apps aren't the problem.
