Blade Pro 17 2020 - Fan ramp up at idle

Hi all,

Received a Blade Pro 17 today. Wonderful bit of kit, feels well built.

My one niggle is that, whilst its sitting idle doing nothing, and I mean task manager is showing nothing is taxing the system, I'm getting fairly frequent spin up of the fans to a moderate level. It will definitely kick in whilst in casual use, such as internet browsing (non-video) and so on, which is surprising.

I've currently got the profile set to default and I've tried a more silent profile, but nothing really changes.

I'm hoping to use this laptop for play at home and for design work, when I'm able to return to the office, so being able to run it more silently in work mode would be really handy.

Appreciate any feedback or advice people can give. I do understand this is a gaming spec laptop and should expect the jets to kick in whilst gaming, but it seems a little excessive to me when doing nothing or relatively simple tasks on the system.

Thanks in advance.

You can set the CPU slider in Synapse to Low for a lower noise, or go extreme and disable Turbo in BIOS. Monitor your temps and see what is the highest during light loads.
