BSOD when disconnecting Razer Core X (details in post)

Hi, I have a Razer Core X with an EVGA GTX 980 Ti Classified installed, plugged into a Dell XPS 15 9550 with an Nvidia 960m discrete GPU along with the integrated Intel graphics. Running the latest build of Windows 10.
I get excellent, near-native performance out of the 980 Ti (no complaints there), but about 25% of the time that I unplug the Razer Core, my laptop crashes with a BSOD. I uninstalled all GPU drivers with DDU, and reinstalled Nvidia drivers with both the 960m and 980 Ti (in the Core) connected. The Nvidia GPU switcher in the Windows 10 system tray functions as expected, and I get the BSOD after properly disconnecting the external GPU in that.
Any ideas on how I can get this to work stably? I can provide logs and memory dumps if needed.
Thanks in advance!
