Please help me deciding my purchase! I owned Razer Blade 2015 QHD+ and super satisfied with its performance, and upgraded to late 2016 Skylake both model FHD and QHD+, lacked of touchscreen, low resolution and screen panels look made me felt downgraded in FHD model. I changed it to QHD+ late 2016, it was perfect from outlooks but, the performance and CPU Fan behavior was not acceptable compare to its competitors as I purchased blade 2015 once. Now there are some tweak that bumps it performance but I kind don't like it, because i also used my old blade on stock condition without OC, UV etc, and l could still sold it with very good value after one year used as main laptop.
FHD Blade 2017 base model has scored the very good score compare to other Blade models on notebookcheck.de review which made me thinks to buy, I know a lot of people will definitely recommend it over 4K model, concerning the battery live, weight, etc but I need some opinion from anyone who has same feelings with me on the fact that 4K model will be the most portable touchscreen laptop with gtx1060 that have respectable resolution and GPU performance and sexy look like MacBook with it.
Nobody knows when it will be released but Hidevolution has listed this model to be available on this month, but if they still hold it until late Q2, i have no other option to buy the FHD one:/
Sorry for my bad English and the title was for Blade 2017;)

I have the skylake 1060 blade in QHD. I like you was not sure if I should get the FHD or QHD when the skylake 1060 blade came out. I went to the Microsoft store and saw the FHD in person. I hated the matte screen and for some reason the FHD looks more pixelated compared to other 1080 panels from other brands. Anyway i took the plunge and ordered the QHD from Razer and couldn't be happier! esp after i updated the firmware for the fan my razer is much more quiet now w/ better battery life. Personally if i were you i would wait for the 4K kaby lake blade if you can.

4K blade 14 is not released yet, but it will be worse than FHD model for sure, and maybe QHD+ late 2016, because the battery has to push those high UHD resolution. I think it is also one reason why Razer is not yet release it, they maybe are creating tools like software or some other things to keep the battery life at least not under previous QHD+ 14 which has battery life about 5 hours.

Cant speak for the 4k model since its not out yet. but on my QHD i can get about 4 - 6hrs maybe 7hrs only if im running on a fresh restart and tweak the settings a bit and use IE as my browser.

Good to know, i had also QHD+ but only could manage maximal about 5 hours 30 minutes in maximum battery setting and fast boot off, Firefox was my browser on Blade late 2016. Is it after recent update?

the only firmware I opted to update was for the fan on my blade. Aside from gaming I noticed I can get an extra hour on the battery.
