I have a PC laptop with a USB Type C port but no Thunderbolt. If I bought a USB Type C to Thunderbolt adapter and connected my PC to a Razer Core would it 1) Be able to read data and 2) Have the same connectivity as a direct Thunderbolt connection?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks everyone.

The Core is equipped with a USB C connector but uses the TB3 protocol, so technically you would be able to connect it directly but it wouldn't be able to do anything as normally USB C uses USB 3.1. So while a USB-C TB3 port can use both USB 3.1 and TB3 a regular USB-C connector can only use USB 3.1.

No a USB port can only run USB protocol. The core uses the pcie protocol through a thunderbolt enabled USB type c port. You'll need a thunderbolt 3 equipped device to use the core.

you can connect but you can only use USB 3.0 hub features, not external graphics card.

I will be very surprised if you find such thing. Did you just mean a piece of wire with USB-C at both ends?

Yes that's what I was thinking. Sounds like it would operate as a normal USB 3 connection only.
