turbo :). Mostly because they are driven by exhaust (waste) rather than engine power. Also they sound sick with a dump valve :D

A mix of Turbo charger and Roots Supercharger because of the following reasons:
People think that Turbo is better since its driven by exhaust and does not reduce engine output when turbo is not working but its wrong. There is something called exhaust back pressure and that is increased on adding a Turbo so you actually have reduced power output when the turbo is not compressing the air. There is also Turbo lag, the bigger the turbo the more the lag. Supercharger is run off the flywheel which means the exhaust is free and since it is run off the flywheel there is no need to wait for it to kick in. The Supercharger also has better ratio and can actually result in a better output compared to Turbo at lower RPM but a Turbo has better output at higher RPM. So a mix of both will give me power at all RPM without having to wait till I hit some RPM.
If you wanna hear a loud supercharger check this one(you can hear the whining noise, its epic):

    Turbo, less waste, more efficiency

but turbos may be more expensive depending on what you buy

the right setup on a turbo will equal great performance

the is a ratio between your turbines/fan and your boost/turbo.

superchargers are kinda easier to install

with turbos you have to find a place to put it and set up how much boost and you have to get a completely new exhaust system sometimes depending on the turbo

turbos run of your car's exhaust and super chargers usually run off of your Alternator belt or the flywheel

And they both boost speed or performance???

2JZ with twin turbo is a beast and can handle tremendous horsepower with a stock engine.

yeah but supercharges are only wort it when your going high speeds

    i go with turbo 100%

the turbocharged 4 cylinder boxer engine that subaru puts in their cars
    is so freaking awesome

what's the best motor of your guys choice?

Technically they are compressors. They compress air so there is more air fed in to the engine which helps burn more fuel.
Its not the speed that matters its the engine RPM and supercharges fall off at higher RPM so technically superchargers are better than turbo at lower RPM and turbos have higher cfm value at higher RPM
I prefer a straight 6 with a medium size turbo and a supercharger for a steady power curve.

Its not that easy to get performance parts like Turbo and Supercharger here, the most easily available ones are the ones by Garrett Honeywell.

Relative technical merits aside, I just think turbos are more fun.
