Hi guys, I've been looking to get a mechanical keyboard for a long time and because I love clicky switches, I've been deciding between Razer's green switches and Cherry MX Blue Switches. Problem is I can't really find a difference between the two of them besides the manufacturers. So, if you guys are kind enough to enlighten me on the differences, I'll surely appreciate it :)

PS: I'm new so pardon me if i'm not supposed to discuss stuff that's out of razer's context. If so, drop a comment below and i'll remove the thread immediately.

The differences will be pretty minuscule. The actuation force and tactile feedback will be similar. The difference will be that Razer manufactures the keys to have shorter actuation points, so the keys will have a slightly faster response time. The decision should probably be made on whether you want a Razer keyboard or not, not based on the switches alone. If you like the BlackWidow, then you're getting Razer switches. If you don't like the Widow, then get a product with blues.

Totally agree with that, there is hardly any noticible difference between both types. Although i would go for the Razer switches, because the should take 60 million hits while cherry switches only take 50 million

I like the Blues a little bit better but overall there isn't much difference at all.

I've got both sitting in front of me atm, (old CM Storm Quickfire) and I prefer the Razer. They both have almost exactly the same actuation points, but the Razer seems maybe a touch stiffer for me, which I prefer, having big hands. The blues I occasionally press the space down when my hands are resting on them, it's just a shade too soft me for me, and that's never happened with my Blackwidow

I agree with @iamthefong , the MX Blues are a little too soft for me. I much prefer Razer switches, or MX Reds, but blues are too soft. And Razer switches do have a longer guaranteed durability by 10 million keystrokes (each, I believe). However, your keyboard will still work outside of the guarantee range, maybe with a few glitches.

If you are leaning towards the Blues, the old 2013 Blackwidow uses Blues, and I believe they're still sold, although I'm not sure where. It's worth checking out. Hope this helped!
