Hey - I have some older Radeon R9 280x gpus that I took out of my last year desktop and was thinking about getting an egpu to stick them in to give a little more life to my laptop. I see that the Core X is compatible with the 285, but couldn't find any clear info if the Core X could work with the 280x.
I have a somewhat older laptop, so I'm also planning on using Apple's T3-T2 adapter for the egpu. From other forums I've read this has never been an issue for people.
Anyone have any guidance on the 280x and if it would work? I'd prefer to reuse my desktop components instead of just adding to e-waste.
