Core X ok to switch off or better to unplug TB connector?

Hi all

I am using my Core X with a NUC 8th gen i5 a few times a week to play games. Otherwise I dont need the Core X to be running as I leave the NUC on all the time. I have been switching the Core X off with the power switch when I dont need to use. Sometimes when I switch it back on, it seems like there is a little bit of a surge in power. I am wondering if it is better to unplug the TB connector like one would do if this were a laptop or if using the power switch on the Core X to turn off and on as I am doing is OK?

I don’t use nuc but laptop, from stealth 2016, 2019 to book 13 with core v2. Since it doesn’t have physical power switch I just unplug the thunderbolt cable, and core is always plugged on the wall, I only unplug it when going out for long time like vacation or weekend trip where no one at home. It’s still fine now, owning it since 2017. So from my experience unplug the cable first is fine.
I just took a look at the manual again, and it says to plug in the TB connector first, then turn on the power switch. It doesnt say what to do to switch it off the best way, but just following the opposite order, it would seem like you would turn off the power switch and then unplug the tb connector. I dont know, maybe it doesnt matter, but would like to have official guidance from Razer on this. I bought the Core X used from someone so the serial number shows they no longer will support me, other wise I would ask them directly.
