    It looks like all current products sold on razer.com are on Synapse 3. There will be places like Amazon selling 10 year old stuff but that's your fault if you buy a non-current product. Also it wouldn't be planned obsolescence since Synapse 2 works perfectly fine. I wish old stuff was on Synapse 3 too, but 2 extra clicks to open a different Synapse isn't a big deal.

  2. The reason why I do pay a porsche price for Razer products is that I expect to have ONE working software ecosystem that do drive all my devices in one. If I would be ok to have multiple ecosystems on my system I also could go for multiple vendors.

    Another point is that it is not possible to use interdevice functionality between my existing Razer products and new products because Synapse 2 driven devices can communicate with Synapse 3 driven devices. This is clearly a loss of functionality that was a key reason for me to buy all my devices from one company. And this is what I call it planned obsolescence, driving customers to thrash good working devices because of reduced functionality because software issues.

    Do you think it is ok to promise to add 'legacy' devices to Synapse 3 and than don't deliver ?
    Is it ok to deliver porsche priced hardware with a software that still in beta after 3 years ?

    I don't think so and I got badly surpised by this facts.

    Btw, the so called 'legacy' Orbweaver is still offered in the Razer shop so it is not true that they only sell Synapse 3 compatible devices. I bet it would be easy to find more examples.
    Don't try to move the blame to the customer.

    So please tell me why this is not planned obsolescence to stop supporting products when they just need to add their hardware profiles to their newer software so that I can use all functionality that I can expect.

    I bet, if Synapse would be open sourced, we would have fully working drivers since years.

    2 devices from same "premium" brand needing 2 different software versions, one beta and still buggy and one older one, that also is running not very well, consuming lots of RAM and CPU, both incompatible to each other!
    Could hardly be more worse!

    I wouldn't worry about less than 1% of resources being used. If there's any bugs left let them know, the only ones I noticed were fixed many months ago.

  5. When it comes to CPU costs, I can agree with you. The time I had to waste fumbling around with two different driver software is unfortunately not visible in this diagram ;)

    PS: thanks for the friendly smile on my face now

    We all know this default answer when we ask when your device will be added to Sin3:

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ snip ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    But as we stated before, our developer team is trying their best each day to migrate all the device from Synapse 2 to Synapse 3.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ snap ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    I asked for a list of devices that have been migrated to Sin3 in the last 12 months and got this answer:

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ snip ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    For your kind information, we didn't have a list exclusively for the device that has been migrating from Synapse 2 to Synapse 3. We only have link for supported device on Synapse 2, Synapse 2 for MacOS and Synapse 3 only. If you're looking our product support on Synapse 3, on a questions "When will other devices be supported?", it also will showing the Synapse 3 supported device only.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ snap ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    So I did a little research myself to get a better picture about what had happend since then.

    Let's compare the supported legacy device list that was online on the 5th December 2018:
    https://web.archive.org/web/20181205031318/https://www.razer.com/synapse-3

    with the current one I got just pointed to:

    https://support.razer.com/software/synapse-3/

    Hmmm... result is exactly ZERO migrated devices. Still only support for Naga Hex v2 and Naga Chroma as so called 'legacy' devices.

    Later I stumbled accros an interessting dialog from June this year:

    Hey Mr. Product manager, please update your support staff so they stop creating wrong expectations on our side.

    Thank you

    At least I now know what I can not expect to happen :slightly_sad:

    Nice, so over a half of my Razer products will never get support from Synapse 3.0 :')

    I don't really understand how hard it would be to support for an example Deathadder Chroma when Deathadder Elite is supported. They're not THAT different.

    It could really be, that although they have a similar name, internal electronics difher massively.
    But no matter, for the developers, they could create at least a high level of compatibilty, if they, or product management, wanted to. But it's easier and cheaper, to leave some dissatisfied customers behind.

    So is 3.0 still in beta after two years? It's super buggy and unusable for me, which means I can't use settings for my new mouse (unless I want to keep installing and uninstalling the software.)

    I dont think is correct. I have a Blackwidow X TE Chroma keyboard and this is still not supported on Synapse 3 but was still recently available on the online store.
