Difference between Razor Kishi variants

Hi Everyone!

I'm planning to purchase a Razer Kishi controller, however at my place on the local webshops I found 3 Razer Kishi model with different product numbers.

What are the differences between them?

They're designed to work in different operating systems and platforms (Android, Android - Xbox, iPhone, iPhone - Xbox) of smartphones. To learn more about Razer Kishi, please click this link and check the information under the specifications and user guide tab. Refer to the screenshot below:

Thank you for the pictures! However I think you left out the link of this previous message. :slightly_sad:

Also another quesiton. So Let's say I choose the RZ06-02900100 variant, which is the Android - Xbox, that means the controller would be compatible with android devices and with Xbox consoles? And also all of the variants are compatible with PC right?

Thanks for pointing that out. I've re-attached the link. On the other hand, the Razer Kishi for Android - Xbox can operate on a smartphone with Android 8.0 or higher through Xbox Game Pass since this device can simulate the Xbox environment/platform.

Okay, I think I need to ask it more specfic. Maybe I'm too much of a boomer here lol as a 30 yr old 😃 Sorry for it.

So let's say I want to play LEGO SW The Skywalker Saga on my phone, but through Steamlink, so stream play if we can say that. Would Steamlink recognize Razer Kishi as a dedicated controller and if so, use it like it was a normal controller? If yes, which variant is capable doing this?

Also, let's say I want to play Farming Simulator on my phone, the android game, so no Steam or Xbox or anything is involved at this point. The game has a dedicated controller support, so I was able to play it like I was playing it on PC or console. I guess this is generally true with this controller too?

By Xbox Game Pass you are referring to the android app at this point right? Which can act like Steamlink and stream your gameplay.

Also one major thing I noticed that the Android variant's triggers and bumpers are marked in reverse direction, compared to the Android Xbox variant.
Meaning
On Android: top button is triggers, bottom is bumpers
On Android Xbox: top button is bumpers, bottom is triggers.
Is this true or perhaps the PDF-s are marked incorrectly?

It will work with Steamlink. Let me share a Reddit thread I saw in the past here. Just ensure to use the smartphone that is supported by the controller by clicking this article. And yes, it is the Xbox Game Pass for Android app. And no, the PDF has the correct labeling. The buttons shown in the Android - Xbox PDF look different due to the bulleting (letters) but if you notice in Kishi Android PDF, both versions have the trigger button (L2/R2) located on top of bumpers (L1/R1).

Oh thanks. I just realized about the buttons, they are the same. Thanks! :D

I think my Black Shark 2 Pro just about being the maximum size of the supported phones as I checked it now hehe. :D

So, in final words, which version should I purchase then in your opinion, the Android or the Android Xbox? What are the actual benefits of the Android Xbox variant? Just the full controller compatibility with the Android Xbox Game Pass app?

You're welcome! It depends on what games you'll be playing. If you are after the Xbox games, then go with the Android - Xbox version. The good thing about this variant as it can be used with non-Xbox/Android games.

Well the only Microsoft Store game that I have is Sea of Thieves, but I also have that on my Steam so yea. 😃 I don't think the Xbox App compatibility is a must for me. Not even in the future.

Well I only have one more question maybe. In case of the normal Android variant, are we maybe able to connect it directly to the PC? Using maybe USB cable? Or even a Type-C to Type-C cable if we have such port on our PC?

Oh! Good question. However, that is not possible since the controller was designed to work on a smartphone.

Well according to this reddit post it is in fact compatible. Just need a right angled USB Type-C cable so that we can use the controller while it's folded together. And as I can see the guy used the Android variant.

Cool! Kudos to that user. The team only sticks to what device it was tested and intended to work. Furthermore, I hope you'll attain what you are aiming for while using the controller in the future.
