    Hi guys,

I am planning on getting an egpu setup for my mbp with a Sapphire Vega 64 and I wanted to know if it fits into a Razer core X.

    The gpu size is 310(L)X 133(W)X 54 (H) Dimension /mm, and requires 3x8pin connectors.

Also, the gpu requires a 650W/750W power supply but I've read that during gaming session it stays around 330W.
I plan on undervolting it a little bit to keep it the chillest possible but I would like to know if this gpu would be ok for the razer core x psu in those conditions.

And last but not least, the razer core x has a 650W psu but can only deliver 500W maximum for the gpu ? If it is because of the 100W power supply to the laptop and if so can it be switched off ? (I have 4 TD3 ports at my disposal so I don't really need the razer core x to fuel my laptop !).

Many thanks in advance and sorry if my english is bordeline bad sometimes :) !

The GPU should fit, but you might need a PCIe Y-adapter. The Core has only 2 connectors, not sure about the Core X though. I couldn't find any info on that.

The recommended PSU output is just an approximate value. You won't have any troubles powering the card, unless you try to overclock it.

Thank you for you answer !

I don't plan on overclocking it, I even plan on underclocking it slightly as the TB3 bandwidth + my i7 6920HQ 2,9Ghz should have a bottleneck of approximately 10%. At least it should stay cooler, consume less power and might stay in better shape for a longer time.

A guy on egpu.io dismantled the unit and say that regarding the wiring on the core X: "The Core X wiring harness provides one 24-pin power cable, one 4+4 EPS power cable, and two 6+2-pin PCIe power cables."
Are the 4+4 EPS power cable used by the fan or could I use it as the third 8pin connector for the gpu ?

Here are some photos from the guy, including one of the label on the psu, can't see if the psu is non or semi-modular though, but reading the label make it seems that there is at least one free slot for another wire no ?

Thank you for your time !
