Does adding a second SSD lower the gpu bandwidth?

I just bought a 2020 Razer Blade Pro 17, i7-10875, 2080S Max-q. From what I understand, It's common for a second slot to be empty, because adding another drive will go past the pcie lane limit of the system. This causes the gpu to run on 8 lanes instead of 16. I was thinking about just buying a second 1TB drive and installing the system in a raid array, but if it limits GPU bandwidth, I'll go with a single 2TB.

I would also really like to know this. Also, does the second nvme slot on the pro have 2 or 4 lanes of PCIe bandwidth? If 2, thats going to bottleneck the drive to 50% performance right?
I can help with those questions. It would be x4, because it would take 8 lanes from the gpu. Only caviot is if you are using a x2 nvme ssd, which those are common too, and intel drives are one of them. The performance hit is way less, even if the gpu is running on a x4... 10-15%, so probably 5-10% on a x8
