Downclock Razer Blade while charging?

I have a Razer Blade 15 and like to play games like WoW Classic on it. These type of games don't require much power but often call for longer gaming sessions which makes the pc extremely hot. I know high temperatures are normal for this PC, but it just feels unnecessary to draw the full power of the hardware and have it be burning to the touch just to play wow classic. I can easily play it unplugged at an acceptable fps with no excessive heat, but as it often calls for longer sessions I need to plug it in at some point.

This generally makes me worried for the longevity of the laptop, which begs the question - Is there a way to play games while plugged in without drawing the full power? Like have it run the way it runs on battery when I'm not playing anything that requires a lot of power

I have looked through the Synapse App but the closest thing that gives me is the "Balanced" performance mode, that treats WoW Classic like a over-modded Skyrim

Thanks in advance and Happy Easter!

You can try setting the Battery power mode to 'Best battery life', by clicking the battery icon on your taskbar.

This should help a little bit with scaling back on power consumption.
Thanks for the tip! It seems to help with the charging time but the heat remains. I tried pairing this tip with manually maximizing the fan speed but I cant seem to cool it down. When I exit the game it cools down pretty quickly so maybe the PC is just meant to be hot when running?

Yes, reducing the clock speed while charging does affect charging speed, since more energy is stored in the battery rather than get used by the CPU.

Due to the thin design of Razer Blade laptops, this meant that heat dissipation is quite less than expected. So the system would easily get warm to hot, depending on usage. Hence the rapid build up of heat would cause the fan to spin up real fast and noisy.
