Hi all this isn't strictly about linux, but thought this would be the best place to ask.

Currently I have a Razer Blade 13 (early 2020) with a single 500GB HD, including the original recovery partition.

What I want to do is replace the internal HD for a 1TB drive... which I plan to split into 2 500GB partitions.

I would plan to use the USB recovery stick from Razer to re-install the factory OS, but my concern is how the recovery program would deal with two partitions.

Ideally what I'd like to do is run recovery on one partition and install a disk image of my current OS to the other so I end up with a dual boot system.

(I don't know if other folks do this, but it's something I always did with previous machines - one OS for daily use and experimenting with new programs, the other kept "clean" for professional work).

Would appreciate some advice from you linux folks who I'm presuming are most experienced with these sorts of things?

...just to add a bit more to this:

possibly one way of going about it might be to clone the existing disk onto the new 1TB disk (presuming this would work, considering the different sizes and the recovery partition, I confess I don't know enough about the process)

I could then shrink the volume to 500GB in windows 10 and create a new partition, allocating 500GB to it.

Then I suppose I could use the recovery stick to install a new OS to the new partition (presuming it can offer a choice of volume to recover to?).

I'm also assuming that the recovery partition is not going to be much help as it will want to recover to the whole HD, as it was originally installed, not a different larger HD with multiple partitions.

Much rather know what I'm letting myself in for before embarking on this mission!
