Which methods did you try and which windows and OS X version are you using? Yes bootcamp especially on Catalina has issue running egpu. For example in my case I’ve to plug on it once windows log pops up before loading circles shows, thanks to t2 chips. I’m using Catalina and 1809 btw since latest 1909 and 1903 seemly aren’t stable on my windows usage, yes gaming.
Hello, I tried to update my driver through device manager but it says it’s up to date. When I download the driver installer from amd, it says amd graphics card not detected.

I am using the latest version of Windows 10 home and recently updated to Catalina. But how can Catalina cause troubles on bootcamp, i mean they’re on different disk right?

Also 1809 is not working for me. It won’t recognize my card (it wont give me error 12, but other errors). Only the latest version worked for me(shows error 12, so it never actually “worked”). But i restore my windows and now whenever i plug my core X after i update to 1909, the monitor just turns black and I’ll have to delete and reinstall bootcamp. I re-installed bootcamp like 3-4 times

You’re true they’re different portion but keep in mind that t2 chip. Yes I think I know your feeling it was also not one smooth installation for me, I even downgraded to Mojave to find the best compatibility with my setting. Once it was fine on 1909 and Catalina next day comes BSOD and then not booting issue. In my case I’ve to settle things with iris plus, your case maybe with your amd dgpu as well. You might want also try to check latest info on egpu.io I think there you might find solution or more information about your setting since Core x and MacBook Setting is quite famous there. Last thing I saw poeple are talking about avoiding latest Catalina update for this setting and users with old OS X like Mojave and high Sierra are seemly still happy user.

Well for me Catalina is better than Mojave, my mac won't recognize my card when I was in Mojave. Also, I am currently stuck in this situation. I know I need to update my windows so My boot camp can recognize my card, but once I updated it, and plugged the core X, it just black out, tried plugging in while starting, didn't work for me.
