Hi, I recently purchased a Razer Blade 15 Base Model, that I received yesterday (thank you Amazon). Very nice machine, but I have a problem. The fans are very often active. They are not at their maximum speed, but they trigger for minimal functions such as open web browser, go on youtube, etc... Even my old PC, much less powerful, didn't make any noise when I performed such tasks.
The only time the fans stop is when I'm not doing anything. But you don't do nothing when you have a beast like that in your hands.
The noise of the fans is exhausting in the long run, and I wish I could fix this problem. I checked the task manager and the CPU does not exceed 10%. I tried to change the fan speed manually with Razer Synapse, but it makes the situation worse. I also tried softwares like Notebook Fan Control, SpeedFan, etc... but nothing change. I contacted Razer customer service but they did not provide a solution.
I specify that I did all the Windows updates, drivers (NVIDIA, Intel,...) and even the BIOS update.
If you've ever encountered a similar problem, and you have ideas on how to fix it, I would be grateful to you.

I also just received a new 2020 Razer Blade and can confirm the fan is very active, very often. A simple activity like swirling the mouse on the screen or watching YouTube will cause what appears to be a constant 50% fan load - very noticeable, similar to a PlayStation4 under load.
I can confirm the PC is using the integrated GPU (according to Windows task manager) and the temperature appears to be 50 degrees Celsius.
Windows is on Balanced power plan. The BIOS has no obvious fan profiles or control schemes.
Have not tried anything else yet - may experiment tonight. Just wanted to post to confirm you're not alone.

Another option is to somehow unlock the BIOS and control the fan such that the temperature is only actived when it exceeds, say 60C. But no idea how to do that yet. From what I have gathered, Razer blocks BIOS access.
Thank you for your answers. It shows that I'm not the only one. I thought to exchange it at the beginning, but we can see that it is a software problem and not a hardware one. So there is no need to change machines. I also noticed that the fans activate as soon as one of the threads exceeds 50 ° by analyzing on continuous with CoreTemp. The only setting I managed to change (because I feel like everything is clamped on this machine) is the advanced power settings. I changed the mode of ventilation on the sector, I passed it from active to passive. But what I would like to do is actually change the temperature of the fans in the BIOS, turning them to at least 60 °. Except that the Thermal Configuration option is not available in the BIOS. From what I saw on the forums, the option was available before but they removed it. I will try other things but it might be hard. Hopefully an update of the BIOS or the system.

I thought maybe one fan went out so I submitted a ticket for support but after turning the laptop over and using a flashlight, I can see both fans are spinning just fine. Wear noise cancelling headphones in proximity of the computer,

For me personally, I'm going to wear headphones and see if they eventually deploy an update. I will log a ticket to Razer support later today - this is the only official way to notify them of the nature of the problem.

Exactly. I agree. I've undervolved with ThrottleStop. This delays the fan coming on by pushing the 50C a little down the line. But again, the 50C is a ridiculous benchmark. My Dell XPS15, a beast in itself, has zero issue.
I am not sure what the logic of 50C is, but I want control over this in BIOS.

You are right. This shows that there is no solution that can fix the problem. You can try anything you want, Razer blocks access to fans, whether in the bios or for third-party software. The only solution would be to urge Razer to fix the problem with a BIOS update. In addition, it's very easy to do, I hope that with all the complaints, they'll eventually make a difference.
I've had a Razer Blade 15 2060 for almost 2 years. It recently starting having loud fan noise. I wonder if it's a bug or something. Very annoying.

Thanks for your message but if it was that simple I wouldn't have asked the question on the thread. We've obviously all already tested this, and by the way Razer PCs are set to this mode by default so there's nothing to be done. I was hoping that today's Synapse update would change something, but we'll have to wait a longer. Nothing has changed, the cooling is still poorly optimized.

I literally just took it out of the box and opened up internet explorer and it started making a loud vacuum noise... I knew I was in trouble. If the noise will be an actual problem for you, I recommend that you place a support ticket immediately and don't wait for an update. You would want to switch to a different device.
This amount of noise for simple operation (open web browser) is considered abnormal in this industry.
I was curious and sought reviews of this product. The noise is never mentioned. We either have defective units or Razer has screwed something up. I'm personally living with it but I'm not using this device near a microphone.

Actually, I agree with one of OP's posts here. When I use Synapse to control the fan noise, it's actually worse because the fan will literally never turn off or even go below 50%. The "Auto" fan setting in Synapse (the default) is the best, but it still ramps the fan up and down super hard any time the system goes over 50C - which is frequently.

I have this exactly same issue. Very disturbing noise all the time except when on battery. What concerns me when googling I find the same issue from Razer blades years ago so Razer probably doesnt give a shit.
I just got my early 2020 15" base model and "fixed" the issue by first confirming all fan profiles in Synapse were set to auto - they weren't initially. Then I went into the bios and disabled Turbo Boost. That finally worked for me.
Before disabling Turbo Boost in the bios, changing the fan profiles in Synapse did nothing at all to the fan speeds; they just kept whirring away and were quite irritating. I also tried adjusting the Control Panel\\Hardware and Sound\\Power Options\\Edit Plan Settings > Change Advanced Power Settings. Under the Balanced profile (which is my active profile), I changed the Processor power management > Maximum processor state > Plugged in to under 100% (99, 98, 97, etc). These adjustments also had no impact.
With fan noise gone, they did fire up when playing GTA5 which is completely expected. The question is if I should have to live without ALL the features I paid for? I guess I have 29 days to figure that out. I created a ticket with support yesterday.

Reboot and hold the Del key down. This will take you into bios. I forget the menu name exactly, but It will be related to CPU. I just turned off turbo boost and left everything else default. Make sure you Save and Exit. GL!
