G.Skill rgb ram wont turn off when pc is in sleep mode

so i used the g.skill software to connect to razer chroma and it works just fine. however, in the razer synapse 3 software i selected the option to turn off the lights when the display is off but it still stays on when the pc goes to sleep. its not an issue with the mobo because i used to use gigabytes rgb fusion app and the lights on the ram did turn off when i put the computer to sleep.
