What GPU do you use?
Most mining nowadays require more than 6 - 8 GB dedicated GPU memory.

Also can you check the following .exe file is intact
C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Gamma\\Miners\\ethminer\\etherminer.exe

As @Sye_The-Vie said - for ETH mining more VRAM is required to mine - I think it's 8GB now. Also not every GPU is good for mining.
@Sye_The-Vie and @FiszPL - Have you guys mined, and what's the mining rate (and which cards)

Mined, but not on gamma. There are a bunch of websites with GPU statistics (hashrate), and calculator for popular cryptocurrency (yup, gamma is not there :P)

Right now, there are mix of comments who say the Gamma now works and does not work.

Try reinstalling the Gamma application

Top of the line GPUs for Gamma mining as follows

  • RTX 2080 TI
  • RTX 2080 Super
  • GTX 1080 TI
  • RTX 2070

I would not recommend mining on a laptop. The chances of mobile / laptop GPU dying over heat is faster compared to the full size ones.

The study of thermodynamics can be an area of interest.

Unless you are delivering an excellent cooling solution~~~

Forgot to mention from this post~~~

Once you install the Gamma software it will add in the following .exe file in the following directory
C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Gamma\\Miners\\ethminer\\etherminer.exe

This is the .exe file which is part of initiating the gamma mining process.

Any Anti-Virus software is going to consider it to be a Trojan and will delete it.

Action as per following~~~

  • Disable your Anti-Virus scanner
  • Install Gamma
  • From your AV software, White list the .exe file
  • Enable your Anti-Virus scanner
  • Start mining

hello sorry i havent replied i forgot about insider for a while.... i used a gtx 1050 so guess i am quite behind for crypto mining. but strangely when i mine the computer doesnt get hot at all the fan goes mad but its not in the slightest hot. and yes the etheminer.exe file is there.

So the GPU is not hot, but it is trying to process something which is making the fans go mad.

It is kind of like this~~~
What happens if a weight lifter who can only lift 100 kg, but tries to lift 150 kg?
The weight lifter may lift the weight off the ground about few centimeters, but eventually they will drop the weight; otherwise they will hurt themselves.

To complete a mining, the GPU uses up to 5 - 7 GB VRAM memory of DAG calculation. DAG stands for Directed Acyclic Graph, which you can read about it by clicking here.

Because GTX 1050 only comes with 2 GB of VRAM, it has not enough potential to complete the mining. So just like a weight lifter, your GPU cannot finalize the completion of mining. But because it is trying to do some work of DAG calculation, the fans spin like mad, which eventually will cancel the mining operation.

The next thing to consider is the GPU architecture; I am not sure about RADEON series, and nvidia RTX 3000 series cannot mine zsilver through Gamma.

RTX 3000 series come with an Ampere architecture, in which does not have the protocol of mining RAZER zsilver.
There are many GPU architecture that have the zsilver mining protocol, like GTX 1000 series and RTX 2000 series.

non technical way to describe this, "Olympics"~~~

  • Mining application is referred to Olympics
  • GPU architecture is referred to Countries competing
  • Mining protocol developer is referred to Olympic committee

A country is about to host the next Olympics, and countries that have been given the privilege / permission from the Olympics committee can compete.

I believe the mining protocols are developed by combined work from GPU manufacturers and mining companies.

ah i see then tysm for the info guess this was pretty much my fault lmao oh well back to waiting for my games to be in pay to play

Following OSs do not support Gamma

  • MacOS
  • Any Windows OS before Windows 10 (8.1, 8, 7, XP, etc)
  • Linux

Gamma is only functional on Windows 10

You will also need 20 - 30 GB free storage space

The minimum or weakest but functional GPUs that can handle Gamma as follows

  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB
  • AMD Radeon RX 570 8GB
To be honest, after trying Gamma, I would strongly suggest just doing crypto even if the basic non-OC way.

You'll more than likely make a hell of a lot more a lot quicker and then you can buy from any store in any country.
The ROI for Crypto is just much better than Gamma.

Here's my findings:

On the RTX 2060 I calculated 720 Silver a day (24hrs) on Gamma vs $3 from CryptoMining.
So Razer DeathAdder V2 in Silver shop = 70 000.
Normal retailer (Amazon) = $58

So Silver would take me 70 000 / 720 = 97 Days
Crypto = (nicehash calc without OC) = 58 / 3 = 19 Days

These were my results, and I'm sure may vary on other cards, but Gamma is just not worth it. You're just mining Crypto for someone else to get rich off your hardware.

Valid point @S1ndrome

I think it all depends on whether cryptocurrency has valid use in a country that people live in, as I mentioned in the following thread.

/gamma-running-etherium.73011/#post-742688

If I move to a country that has a valid use in the cryptocurrency (to buy things and exchange for money legitimately), than I guess it can bring some benefit.

The GTX 1080 TI earns more zsilver compared to RTX 2060.
Thanks to other ways of earning (insider and cortex), I would estimate it would take me a little over 1 and a half month to reach 70k.

Which the earning is still lower than cryptocurrency, but I'm okay~~~

100% - Look this is only my opinion based on my own experience testing the 2. My recommendation is to get a coinbase or Luno Wallet which allows you to convert to most local currencies and just buy from wherever. Unless Gamma changes something significantly to make it profitable, my personal suggestion is to stay away. Though I did see some people post they get 10k silver with the rtx 2060Ti per 24/h. Not sure if I believe it though. But each to their own, and this is just my personal view.

Luno wallet sure sounds interesting.

Gamma did have a 30x zsilver gathering event on September 2020 which lasted 2 months
https://www.facebook.com/gammanow/posts/968332433673449

Thought I was going to become a RAZER thousandaire

I think something similar will open again~~

Maybe~~

When it does, please let me know. Hoping the 30 series are included so I can kit out a pc for myself, a backup and even one of each for you @Sye_The-Vie
