  1. I looked into few devices that recently released with GTX 1070 Max-Q and it seems like they run cooler than their previous GTX 1060 models. This would be great for the upcoming razer blade. What do you think guys?

I’ve been curious if they would release a max q laptop or not. Problem is everyone is marking these Max-q laptops up in price and a lot of people don’t buy them as them because of the premium.

I haven’t looked into the 1070 max q yet. The 1080 max q seems to run a bit warm under the 40db requirements Nvidia set in place.

Which machine do you mean? Are you talking about Aero 15 and 15X, if yes, yes on notebookcheck seems the temp slightly lower some how but on other reviews, like on hardwareluxx germany, on Test the previous model with 1060 still run cooler, and 15X CPU reach 91 C on stress test that means it still run hotter than my Blade 1060 (86). And Dave2D has actually this machine quite long since it launched but still no review. Maybe there’s an issue.

  4. Yes, exactly, and also GS63vr with 1060 and 1070 max-q (based on laptopmag reviews). So, based on what you said, It seems like it is still too early to know for sure.

Ah, GS63vr one got good review it’s way earlier than 15X, I think because it has better space room for cooling. 15X is nice but it pushed way too many features on those thin chassis, RGB keyboard, infinity edge display plus 1070 mq imo. Maybe if they have more experience in thin gaming laptop manufacture like Razer, they could manage it but Aero line started i think just last year with Aero 14 970m as early 2016 Blade competitor, remember as Linus introduced it as poor man Blade;) But now they make quite big challenge.

That is the idea of the max q in general. Its kinda what I've harped on over the summer in a few threads here because of the way they are able to manipulate that into the thin laptop and make it cool! You won't get the full effect of the 1070 or 1080 or whatever is in the laptop kinda like the RBS to the Core, but it significantly cools the system down (in which I'd rather have) while giving up some horse power.

Agreed, it’ll better look at Volta GPU that rumored early 2018, 2060 plus i7 8700HQ on Blade 14 would definitely blow 1070 max q, i think it would like 1070 performance (like 1060 that matchs 970) till than I’m killing my 1060 every day on gaming;)

Yeah outside of building the computer, I'm eyeing a 14 inch blade in spring-summer of 2018. I really hope the size is still around and not moved into the 15 inch plateform..

  9. Me too. I don't want the overall dimension of the Razer Blade 14 to change drastically, but a bigger screen on same firm factor would be awesome.
