Have brand new Kraken X 7.1 Headset and windows refuses to let me use it.

The headset works and all, but the 7.1 surround system I got with the headset doesn't work. I try to select it, and windows just forces it back to boom audio. (The current audio software I use.) I tried using synapse, didn't work. Tried to set 7.1 Surround Sound as default, didn't work, just forced it back to boom audio. If I could PLEASE get help, I'd be very happy and grateful.
