Hi recently purchased a new Razer Core X and RTX3070 Asus KO Gaming, new to egpu concept was trying out.
I plugged everything in, no display on the monitor at all.
RTX3070 not detected by device manager, fan spinning, no output (monitor shows no hdmi / DP displays)
unable to install nvidia graphic because GPU not detected. any advise to troubleshoot

Update: Found the problem was my laptop thunderbolt issue. Motherboard issue from lenovo, fixed upon changing of motherboard. Immediately detect the graphic card installing the driver. Thanks a lot for all the help so far!

Hello to all,

I have the same problem as Eikcaj611.

I have a Razer Core x Chroma connected to my Razer Blade 15 Base (2018). The graphics card is not recognized. I only see the eGpu via Synapse3 and can set the RGB.
But the graphics card is not displayed in the setting in Windows, also my LCD remains black when I connect it to the Core X Chroma.

What’s your host laptop?

Try reslot the card. Look at my signature 3070 even isn’t officially supported yet it works fine over a month on core V2 (smaller PSU) paired with blade stealth and 15. Once you succeed pair it I’d recommend Razer Egpu Switcher for easy gpu switching, hopefully it works on your model, it works on my both system (it was made for blade 14)
A small success.

I can now use the USB and network port on the Razer Core X Chroma. Which did not work at the beginning.
I uninstalled the Intel Thunderbolt Software. The USB an network port was immediately displayed in the control panel.

These devices now appear as USB 3.0. Is that correct?

Is the Thunderbolt software needed to work with the graphics card?
Hello,

After testing some old drivers and installing some old Thunderbolt 3 software, I now see the Razer Core X Chroma.
It´s normal that the Razer Core X Chroma is displayed 2x in the software?

But it is still missing the graphics card now.
Does anyone have any ideas?
another small success,

I have connected another graphics card which is recognized immediately.
The Razer Core X Chroma works without problems.

Now only the RTX 3080 has to be detected.
Do you have any ideas?
Hello,

I got it to work. The error was in the wiring of the graphics card.

Since the MSI RTX 3080 SUPRIM X has 3x8 pin connectors, I had to use a Y-cable, which was defective and I replaced it.

But what would my notebook be if there were no other problems due to it.

I now have USB dropouts due to the connection of the RTX 3080.

Every 2 minutes the USB loses connection and mouse and keyboard are dead.

What could be the cause of this problem?

I am using a lenovo c940, I recently tested with my friend's dell xps 2 in 1, it detects the graphic card immediately and show up in device manager... Could be a driver issue but i couldn't find any solution yet.
I did uninstall thunderbolt driver and updates, windows updates...

Yes it’s due Egpu connection, gpu data goes to cpu through pch controller where io ports is controlled there, it might disturb connection, this’s Egpu route on H cpu on gaming laptop (ultrabook u cpu like icelake and tigerlake has cpu integrated TB3 controller so it doesn’t run through pch. I noticed similar issue also on blade 15, not quite sure it’s also related to driver since I think on blade 14 wasn’t so often but it happened as well.

Try updating TB3 from oem, Lenovo or maybe they have some updates regarding this like from bios. Try also keep enclosure connection while doing windows update, maybe it take sometimes for system to recognize new hardware, I think I have experience where the connection first popped up after several minutes, it’ll first recognize as vga adapter, from there you can update the driver.
Hello joikansai,

I got it to work, it was because of the USB Hubs. (Laptop Stands and Razer Base Station Chroma)
Once I removed them from the laptop and connected only the mouse and keyboard it works.

I guess TB3 and USB share a PCH controller and this is then overstrained with all the USB devices.

Thank you very much for the help.
