High Pitched Whining on Stream [BlackWidow Elite]

Hi,

When plugging my head set into the 1/4 in jack at the side of my Blackwidow Elite, i get this really high pitched whining on my streams or when recording. I've narrowed it down to it being the RGB on the keyboard, the tone and volume of the noise varies depending on the cycle/colour/transition and reduces when in line with when the brightness is reduced. I get no noise whatsoever when the RGB brightness is 0 (turned off). This does not happen when i plug my headset directly into my PC, only when using the jack as the side of the keyboard. I have used 2 VST plugins within OBS Studio which has reduced it to a degree (see tutorial i followed here: ) however it is still audible (see example here: . How can this be stopped? The noise is essentially making 2 features of this keyboard unusable at the same time.

RGB on - Can't use headset jack.
RGB off - Can' use headset jack.

Why can't i use both!

Hi there! Thanks for posting your concern to our Support board. That's not our Razer Blackwidow's normal behavior. When did the issue start? Is there any hardware or software changes before the issue happened? Are you using a USB hub in your current setup? When getting a high pitched noise, do you have another peripherals or devices connected to your PC aside from your keyboard, mouse, and headset?
It's been happening since purchase (about 3 months ago).

No hardware or software changes since purchase.

Yes I am using a USB hub. I did have a USB 2 hub and purchased a USB 3 hub thinking it may resolve the issue, but it didnt. I have also tried by plugging the keyboard directly into a USB 3 port on my PC but the same issue happened so it cannot be the hub causing the problem.

Only devices plugged in are mouse (deathadder elite), keyboard and headset. Again to rule it out being a headset issue, I tried several other sets all of which resulted in the same issue.

Having done some research, I dont appear to be alone in this issue with others having the same keyboard, experiencing the same problem even with a replacement.

Would be awesome if this could be sorted. I do not expect this standard off one of the most expensive keyboards on the market.

Thanks for sharing the isolation steps you've done. Please send us a PM together with your keyboard's serial number so we can check for its updates.
Done, thanks.

Done, thanks.

Thanks! I've replied to your PM.
I am having the same problem with my blackwidow elite. the problem goes away when i turn off rgb lighting. i've attempted to use a ground loop isolator on my usb headset, along with ferrite rings to reduce EMI and nothing seems to help.
