How dangerous is it to continue using my laptop?

Hi all, I've come to this forum for some advice regarding my Razer Blade Stealth 2017 13" model.

My laptop currently has a SEVERE battery bloat, as in the chassis is severely warped and I can view the internal workings of the laptop through the side. However as I bought my laptop in 2017 it is out of warranty, and the damage is so bad I'm afraid I won't be able to afford repairs through razer.
I believe my only option here is to continue using my laptop despite the risks, I'm a university student and need access to a laptop, and given the circumstances with COVID my funds aren't high, especially to repair such an expensive laptop.

I guess what I'm asking is, am I crazy to continue using the laptop? I NEED it for school work and am low on funds, I just feel like I'm out of options. Thanks in advance.

The quick and easy remedy is to immediately remove the battery. The laptop will continue to work while plugged in without any issues. On removal be careful how you remove the battery connector as it may require you to lift a tiny lever in order to remove the connector. My suggestion is you watch a few YouTube videos on battery removal prior to attempting the process. It is quite an easy process however, as with everything it's best to educate yourself first. Once the battery is removed take a picture of the label and order a replacement on Amazon/Ebay. The battery label will have the product/model number to facilitate ordering the correct replacement.

Bloated battery can damage your palmrest, so repair will be more expensive, than replacing battery only. Remove battery and be careful when removing it, if puntured/damaged it gonna blow etc.
Laptop can work without battery (with power adapter plugged in).

Yes you’re crazy if continuing using that like that. Battery bloat might be a fire hazard, and damage other components inside like a Tumor. As other mentioned remove it at any cost if you want to use it, it should work with only ac adapter power before you can afford new battery. Good that your Blade still works and hopefully it doesn’t damage any parts inside especially the motherboard, if so you’re checkmate.
