How do people have 1, 2 mins ahead of start time on squad rewards?

The top teams consistently have people with times exceeding what's possible.
And I've seen the opposite, too. People in team who have not missed a day or minute but appear to be 1, 2 mins behind, even though the app is supposed to update in 5 minute increments.

What's going on? Is it razer? Or an exploit?
It's as good as lost, this season.

Hey there!

Thank you very much for taking time out of your day to share your concern with us here. My name is Michelle from the Razer Cortex Technical Support Team. I will be happy to assist you with your concern.

Regarding your question, please check the answer on our Leaderboard Ranking page:
After a supported game is detected to be launched and running for 5 minutes, Razer Cortex will send the gameplay information to backend servers.
Network issues such as slow network or VPN access may disrupt the process. If so, Razer Cortex will attempt to send the gameplay information in the subsequent minute. This may cause a time gap between the gameplay time you have spent and the gameplay time recorded.
Razer Cortex will continue to record every 5 minutes of gameplay time. Your gameplay time will be updated once Razer Cortex detects that the game is no longer running on your PC.

Please feel free to let us know if you have any other doubts regarding the Squad Rewards Campaign. We'd always love to hear from you and will be optimizing it consistently.

Best regards,
Michelle Chang

Michelle, thank you for explaining the lag. Makes sense.
What doesn't make sense is how teams report ahead of the daily reset. Unless it's the opposite, and everyone but 2-3 people are lagged by 1 minute, doesn't seem likely. Check the leaderboard 5-10 minutes after the reset and you're likely to see what I mean.

For example: At minute 5, there is someone with 6 minutes, after new day.
I'll try to get a screenshot next time.
Thank you so much. Dear Michelle

That would be great if you can share us with a screenshot. Thank you very much!

@razer
if so then explain why did my team start on at the same timing as the top three but we are still in a game but now when I refresh to see it, the top is 2 min ahead and there are 8 teams 1 min ahead of us. Do not give the bs of slow network issues or VPN. because I am monitoring both. Sorry for using rude language but it is what it is just bs. Waste of time.
lastly, @razer your explanation means, there is no point of fair competition. that's what i got from your long stupid explanation

Here you go, michelle.

The leaderboard: https://imgur.com/a/LVQSHWg

Based on what you said here, if there is a lag with the server it tries to refresh in 1 minute interval. Otherwise, 5 minute interval. Correct?

Based on this, i see that if you keep refreshing the leaderboard it constantly changes for the top 20 teams, but all of them have one thing in common: people with 1-3 minutes ahead of everyone else. This means, the software is lagging and not starting on time for the majority of people, including myself.

I never see my time or my team time outside multiples of 5. But the leading teams are all lucky to have the minute advantage, like this https://imgur.com/a/EGNIJwN.

Please see if there is a way to fix this lag issue. My gaming session started before the hour, yet my time is 5 minutes behind. It's not correct, but it happened every day for the past seasons I participated. I don't know how to fix this or force refresh. Perhaps it's time to rethink the first come first serve system currently used since there is an unclear advantage participants cannot control (plus worse internet in different parts of the world, etc).

Thanks for reading.
