So I am new to the whole AFK farming thing for razer silver. How does it work and how do I use it.
Depending on your GPU power, the AFK farming utility (assuming the program known as Gamma), you basically "earn" Razer Silver by using your GPU. As for me, I manage to get roughly 30-40 Silver every 8 hours when I sleep; however, it's a bit iffy. I suggest doing more research on your end to see if it's what you'd like to utilize--if you got the cash to pay the electric bill later on. Thankfully, the program has the option to run and stop depending on your mouse movement, so when you do go "AFK" it'll start to mine for you.
But like I said before, do some more research if applicable and see if it works for you depending on your financial situation. I wouldn't do it if your finances are a bit tight.
In my experience I have good GPU and I am unsure if I have ever earned a single Razer silver...
A month or two ago I was able to get like 5-10 k zSilver a day for like few days. Later I did not get any Silver so I stopped to use the Gamma. Don't know what it looks like now
RIGHT? I feel like it is too inconsistent for them to just say "Based on GPU speed and performance"
Yeah for me it was there were days that I got like 8k and next day like 2k and on the other got nothing. So I just stopped to use it. Besides I finally was able to redeem the Kraken TE headset
It seems insane to me that people are dedicated enough to save up that much silver. Like when I first heard of razer silver I thought that the amount of silver required to reach anything above a certain threshold would be impossible but I guess I am already at like 1,500 at like 3 weeks...
Another area that I would like to share my opinion on.
When comes to "effective" RAZER silver mining or any other cryptocurrency, I would go over the followings
Mining hash rate
1. Mining hashrate
Hashrate is the performance rate of how fast it mines cryptocurrency; the more expensive GPU you invest in, likely the hashrate will just as be good as it gets.
I cannot advise a specific web portal that delivers the best info on hashrate measurement, but go to Google and do some reading and research and you will possibly see the answer.
2. Effective cooling
1 type of GPU comes in three different size / packaging
Full size (power cables)
Small Form Factor size
GTX 1050 TI comes in all three sizes
All three deliver almost the exact same performance, but once the GPU heats up that is where you start seeing the degraded performance. Which is why you need an effective cooling solution.
Sauna rooms in swimming pools are small, so the heat level stays intact within the confined space, which is not an ideal for PCs and laptops cooling solutions.
So even if you set the laptop gpu cooling fans to maximum, the heat does not drop easily due to that confined space and so the laptop mining is not effective; and the reason why mining stops because it needs a cool down period. Unless mining in the freezer is an order~~~
So I would advise, a mid-tower or tower pc case, so that it gives you options of effective cooling
water cooling solution
Many professional miners do not use pc cases, because of the above reason
Hey uh, I probably should've mentioned that I only have like 1-2 GBs of intergrated graphics. I have a 6th gen i3 the computer is 5 years old. Later this year I will be building my own computer though
Hopefully by then there are ryzen 5000 series chips and nvidia 3000 series gpus available
Frrom the research I've done and feedback I've received - It's a very slow process to farm and you can probable get better ROI through other forms of Crypto
