If you're here it's likely you're already on Cortex - so tell me how else we can improve it!
I haven't been getting my daily log in lately. I hate to complain but since you brought it up....
And if it don't get fixed it don't matter anyway, It's a minuscule amount and I get it back playing SC2 anyway, I want to thank you personally for adding SC2!
Done! Thanks for the reply!
Make sure you do a bug report!
Please add a Dark Theme (toggle switch for people who still want the white) because at night my eyes are burning.
Kinda like this. (image)
Please. Thank you.
Load times for deals, games and the rewards tab are quite slow sometimes. Also when I click on the Cortex icon on my taskbar sometimes it takes a while for the mini Cortex thingy to appear.
More game dealers should be searched in the Deals section.
Also, some games use launchers. It would be nice if we had an option turn on if the game has a launcher, Cortex doesn't boost when the launcher is open, since some are open in the background (eg. Gaijin agent launcher and Wargaming launcher).
Oh, here's something that I think most of us want. A dark theme, just like we have one on insider and zVault.
Black and green looks so much better than the new white and lime green color scheme.
Bring back Razer Chroma Mug!!
(so undeserving scalpers won't be making off with the money that should be going into Razer Chroma Toaster R&D instead)
And yeah, I agree with the others - Dark themes would just help reduce our already nocturnal gaming eyes..
Bringing zSilver and game deals to more countries (especially the poorer countries) would probably increase users.
I am curious though, why not integrate Synapse and Cortex in one program?
I would like a dark mode on Cortex just like here on Insider, And the load times for stuff such as the daily rewards could be a bit better, and I find when I click on a Daily Reward notification when i launch contact, I get the reward and then when I try to click the reward tab again it doesn't load into the main rewards page with no back button too.
The new Synapse 3 Beta is linked through Razer Central with Cortex, Although you can only use the Lancehead's and the RDK Kit with Synapse 3 right now.
i really dislike the fact that only 5 games are PTP now. It is nice that your doing some events that you can earn more silver but I can't stand being limited to certain games even further than before. On that note, during the DOTA 2x weekend I never got 2x points just the normal amount for the time played.
As most of the people here said, I would like razer cortex to have better load times overall, so it doesn't feel as buggy all the time. Also I would really like some information about shipping and why razer doesn't ship to Bulgaria or Romania even though they are in Europe and therefore in Europes market. One thing I know for sure is that we have alot of people here wanting to buy your products so it is not like you won't make any money off it.
More things that you can purchase with Zgold.
I liked Razer Arena a lot so maybe some other way to earn Zsilver (skill based ).
If we were able to add friends and chat with them using Cortex... So cool.
you could intergrate discord with razer cortex and add more games to the p2p list if possible
First, echoing what some have already said, do whatever you can to make Cortex run faster and lighter.
Its original purpose, as I remember, was as a game performance booster. Since then, things have been added, and while most seem useful, they have all likely added more weight on the system memory and CPU. That seems to undermine the boosting purpose.
The load times of Cortex are too slow, both for initially loading it and for switching to most of its different tabs or functions. Also, I'm not sure what kind of defrag it does compared to what Windows or other utilities can already do, but when I tried it, it took WAY too long to wait for it to finish.
I like the suggestions of a dark color theme.
Also saw the suggestion of options for if a game uses a launcher or not. There should definitely be more customization to how Cortex launches or interacts with games, than just the location of the executable and whether or not to run overlay.
Please do NOT integrate chat or friend lists into Cortex. As I said, it needs to run lighter and faster, and NOT be bogged down by more things that are better in separate programs. You already had Coms, and then retired it. Discord works just fine on its own. There is no need or advantage to integrate and bring on more bugs and such.
For that matter, I think it would be better if the deals section was lighter, and depended more on linking users to web browser pages. Similar to how accessing a user manual in Synapse does. This would put less overhead on Cortex, and allow you to utilize web browsers we already have that are already optimized for displaying your site and the shops you want to refer us to.
Not sure what Central is needed for, since the only app in it is Cortex. Couldn't Cortex just run on its own, and update itself?
Ability to set how recents work: Sort by recent played or alphabetically with a separator before non-recent and a selectable timer on how long they remain "recent". Option to include recents in the normal list (maybe with a watch icon placed like the star icons for favourites) so you don't miss a game you thought you hadn't player recently and dive deep (somewhere over 400 games currently installed) into the alphabetical order.
Option to sort favourites alphabetically, by recent played or maybe even a simple drag and drop manual reorder.
Have a saved state of the game library to load on launch so it doesn't have to search through all drives before it shows all games in the list to speed up startup times. Then it can check the integrity of the library and find new additions after showing the last known state of the library.
A database with size tailored images for all games. Maybe even user driven so we can upload and vote for approved images (need moderation though, god knows what the internet uploads when it has the option) and select manually to the one we like the best.
Maybe hide Gamecaster and Game Booster under options. While important parts of the app, you seldom need to change their settings.
Talk with Epic regarding support for games from their launcher client. Currently the only games I cannot launch from Cortex.
Icons on games currently active in Paid to Play to denote this.
I'd invert the black and green on this theme.
After all, Razer is Black/Green, not Green/Black
Savegame Manager, like the old one had. Please... it was my most used feature. Haven't found any replacement, that is so simple, like it was in Cortex.
Oh, I agree. A Dark Mode should be the inverted version of that (though possibly very dark grey like the dark mode here is instead of pure black that I used in my haste). It's just that somebody suggested a green mode in a different thread so I had to create a mockup just to see if it works, and I kind of like it. I would most likely end up using a Dark Mode over a Green Mode though, but it's still gentler on the eyes than the current white.
Needs to have a way to be able to vote, or direct users to the voting page for the PTP program in the UI
I dislike that you have to double click > button in order to get into Cortex. There's no right click context option for it. It should also have an option within it to report bugs.
Personally I'd want a complete overhaul of it to make it more streamlined, but that can wait.
Feedback and bug reports directly in Cortex? It's kind of hidden, but it's there. You click your avatar near the top right of either Cortex or Central and it is one of the options there.
Seems the support page is out of date, as that is no longer located on the About page of the app.
Time to submit all of your ideas along with juicy system logs!
