How to fix Tomahawk mini desktop's fans?

I have the same problem of this guy - Razer Insider | Forum - Razer Tomahawk Desktop (mini) Fans Not Working. After just a few weeks of usage the two fans at the top stopped working. Since the PC doesn't work without the case, I couldn't even use it open and all the heat trapped inside make the CPU and GPU throttle like hell.

I wonder how I can test whether it is the fans or other stuffs. I think 2 fans dying at the same time is not likely and probably it is the controller or the circuit board connected to them? Any advice?

I think the issue has to do with the CPU or GPU reaching a certain heat threshold before the top fans (exhaust) begin spinning. The CPU itself however is a rather hot one regardless if it spins or not (it's a mobile CPU, it's expected, check reviews on this model and many show it reaching 95C but supposedly this isn't an issue, mind you these are spikes, not consistently running at 95C).

You'll need MSI Afterburner to rev up the GPU fans however this doesn't affect the CPU fans or the CASE fans (aka the exhaust). I think it's possible to change the CPU's fans (fan on the NUC) in the BIOS but I haven't really been able to get it working as of yet so I've kept it on default. Make sure your Windows and Razer are all up to date, I wouldn't recommend changing anything in the BIOS, keep it default. Run a game or something demanding enough and check if the fans are running after a couple minutes, keep an eye on your temps via an app like CPUID's HWMonitor. If you can't tell if the fans are running or not, keep it close by if possible and put a small piece of toilet paper on top towards the front of the case, when the fans turn on they should blow it right off.

If absolutely NONE of this works, you'll have to contact Razer via Warranty Support. It might be possible you have 2 dead fans but I'd recommend the options mentioned before contacting. I currently own a Razer Tomahawk NUC + 3080 FE. I hope this helps as I never got an answer to any of my concerns as I ran into a similar issue (fans not spinning).

If in case you still experience the same behavior even after performing the steps suggested steps above, please submit a case to our Support Team or send me a PM. I’ll be locking this thread now.
