NICEEE. I've been eyeing those acer monitors for a while now, but I can't get over the red footstand things hehe. I like the X34 the most and it doesn't have red footstands but...has random red rectangle under screen :unamused:

I'm broke too :pensive:. Have no idea what to get. Maybe one of the newer headsets? Mine has been due for an upgrade. How about you? What are you looking to snipe this year?

That is true, though I don't really use backpacks much anymore and I just got rid of a bunch of clothing lol

Does anybody know what the gifts up to $400 are for users who purchase systems?

It's been answered a few times already, including in the OP...

The gifts will be announced the day of the sale.

The I was actually thinking about painting the foot stand green, might get around to it at some point. Decided to jump off the 21:9 wagon since the black bars on 16:9 content was really getting to me, plus Overwatch which is what I mostly play lately doesn't have proper 21:9 support.

Thinking about either the Kraken V2 (USB) or the Orbweaver, really which ever one is actually available.

I think in UK it is on Wenesday at 09:00, considering here in Germany at 10:00, isn't it?

    You are correct, 1000 CET/Alpha (GMT/UTC/Zulu +1) = 0900 GMT/UTC/Zulu (British time not during the Summer)

Haha! So it bothers you too!

Wait Overwatch doesn't support ultrawide? Oh wait...I guess that makes sense. It would give you a competitive advantage over everyone else because you'd have a wider field of view.

For the longest time I never understood that concept - more resolution doesn't actualy mean you see more things on screen while gaming (which a lot of companies selling monitors advertise), it just makes things sharper by rendering them with more pixels. It's actually aspect ratio that determines how much of the in-game world you can see, so you'd have more "peripheral vision" than your enemies which would be an unfair advantage. That's kind of lame though, because ultrawide looks so nice drools *¬*

Actually in Overwatch it disadvantages you since it crops 16:9 to 21:9, plus a 1080 can't drive 1440P UW to utilise the 144hz anyway.

Well jeez sorry Overtask, I'm just a lowly peasant who plays at 60 frames. Don't mind me.

Funny how people are talking about 4K 120hz when one of the strongest GPUs can't even handle 3440 x 1440 at that speed.

I am confused how to work all these discounts. Hahaha not a terrible problem to have though.

I intend to buy a Blade Stealth + Core bundle. I want to use my student discount on it. Should I wait until the day of the sale, select my bundle, apply student discount code, then make.my purchase.

Then in an entirely separate purchase... Select 1 peripheral, apply CES voucher, then make my purchase.

Does this seem right? Also, as far as the new zGold and zSilver work, will they automatically be credited to my account or do I need to sign up for that?

I heavily suggest you not wait. I'm not too sure as to how they'll be doing the systems part of this event, but stock will definitely be an issue.

Just as a reminder, this is something totally different from the CES sale.

Hey thanks for the reply! Other than stock concerns, why wouldn't I want to wait? Won't I be sacrificing the $400 in free gifts? You seem to have a lot more experience around these parts than I do. Would you please go in to a.little.more detail on your reasoning?

Also, checked out the zGold info. I understand it better now. Thanks!

I think you might want to do it the other way around. The servers are likely to be overloaded like they've always been in previous years. This means crashing websites, endless load times, glitches during checkout, etc. The peripherals will probably go FAST because everyone wants them - usually everything goes out of stock before most people can grab something. The system can come later because I'm assuming there are less people trying to get them based on their higher price points. We also have no idea what "up to $400 in gifts" actually means yet, so yeah, probably go for the peripheral first.

yeah, like Raijin said, I think what they meant when telling you to wait is that you can probably guarantee yourself one right now, but during the sale and/or after the stock may be obliterated. So if it is something you NEED then I wouldn't hesitate. But I too am interested to see what the $400 offer entails.

Thanks everyone! I understand that I can expect things to go a little haywire during the initial stages of the event. But systems are not included in this event. So the stock shouldn't be affected by that much, right? Like I said, brand new to Razer. I'm a Mac convert. Just trying to get something a little more appropriately priced than those unholy new.Macbook Pros.

And yes, I do need it. I am a law student and am currently without a computer of any kind. (smart phone doesn't count haha)

Well nobody can say for sure. But that's exactly what I was implying in my post. There are probably a lot less people trying to spend $1000+ than there are people trying to spend $1 - $200. No idea about the stock levels, but I'd still bet on grabbing the peripheral first.

If you really absolutely NEED the Blade though, then you might want to consider what others have said and just purchase it now. I'd do peripheral first, system afterwards if I were in your position, but no promises.
    Don't mention it.

I recently got a Razer Blade Stealth (what I am using to talk to you currrently, lol) and I could not love it more! I got it after using the macbook air my aunt recently bought and wanting something similar. It really is a windows version of the macbook air, except with a touch screen and glowy keyboard. If you are wanting the capability of the macbook pro as far as production and editing software goes, the blade and blade pro would be more up your alley. Unfortunately the price tag on the blade pro is pretty hefty as well. Best advice I can give is go to your local microsoft store if you have one, they should have the blade and blade stealth on display to use!
