Yes. You read that right.

Just 2 short months ago I discovered my Razer battery was swelling (slight bulging of the chassis - 15" 2019 Razer Blade Advanced Merc. White), and, having been alerted to this issue from prior Blade owners I quickly removed the battery just as that happened and no lasting damage to the chassis or internal parts. In fact it was only just a little bit of pressure, the back cover immediately sprung open when I removed it.
Ok, battery removed, laptop still functional, no harm no foul.

I contacted Razer Support through Facebook Messenger (crazy how many different ways you can contact Razer support), and found out my laptop was technically still supported by its warranty (even though the official Razer support website said it wasn't). I still did not want to ship a fully functional laptop when all I needed was a battery, and I was willing to purchase it even. Razer (at the time) refused, saying company policy did not let them do this, the laptop would have to be RMA'd back to their place. We stayed at an impasse.

Cue 1-2 weeks ago I see a reddit user posting about a battery Razer shipped to his residence. Confused, I commented on his post, and Razer customer support messaged me on reddit in regards to my comment.
Somehow in the 2 months between my original support ticket and now, the policy seems to have changed.
I purchased a battery directly from Razer Support website, took took about 4-5 days to Fedex to my house, I just installed it tonight and its charging.

So for Blade owners who are having issues with a swelling battery, if you are able to remove and install the battery yourself, and there is no other damage caused by the battery swelling, you don't have to depend on 3rd party battery manufacturers if you don't want to ship a fully functional laptop in the mail, you can now purchase it directly from razer (it was roughly 65 bucks for the battery itself, a bit more for shipping).

p.s. In my facebook messenger chat, I asked the support team "Is it your goal to drive 3rd party battery manufacturer sales?" They responded with "good question". I'd like to think I was a catalyst in the policy change.

tldr: Swelling battery, Razer support sold me a battery instead of shipping the laptop back

Edit: I'm unsure if this is the right place for this thread, its not really a support ticket as its a resolved issue, just wanted to inform other Blade Owners.
