Hi all
first time user of community so apologize if anything done wrong
- Symptom - My Razor Blade 15 integrated camera just stopped working this morning, when i went to device manager the camera and integrated camera and integrated ir camera elements under the camera option did not show... i did a view hidden and they showed with integrated camera and integrated camer ir greyed out which i assume to mean hardware can no longer see camera device
Actions to date -
so far i have
- tried restarting (after each of below also)
- ensured all windows updates and razor updates updated
- tried right clicking on integrated camera and choosing upgrade - says right driver allocated
- tried uninstalling (driver disappears and does not reappear on restart)
- there is no physical on off button for camera
- the camera app opened in Windows says error code 0xA00F4244 (can not find camera)
- the camera privacy settings are set to allow camera on all apps so thats not issue
- the firewall and anti virus are not blocking
- i followed this advice https://mysupport.razer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3801/kw/camera not detected

however now in device manager camera doesn't even show up as the integrated camera and the integrated camera ir have now been uninstalled and because hardware doesn't recognise camera hardware wont try and reinstall the driver.

soooo im lost.... of course ive just passed the 12 mth warranty so a solution would be much appreciated
thanks in advance...and yes i restarted 🙂 HELP!

Have you already submitted a support ticket about this? If so, please send me your ticket number via PM so I can review it. But if you still haven't, PM me the serial number of your device. I can use it to check if there's a model-specific fix for this problem. Also, please try checking on Windows events for any errors, collect the logs and send them to me. For now, let's try to scan your device for malware. Please follow these steps:

  • Click on "Windows Defender" from the notification area.
  • Click on the "Virus and threat protection".
  • Click on the "Scan Offline".
  • scan your computer
  • After this, your pc will restart, and it undergoes the scanning process.
  • After completion, click on "Windows Defender" from the notification bar again.
  • Click on the "Virus and threat protection".
  • Enable the "Cloud-based protection".
  • Restart your pc again and check if the camera works.

*Thread locked to curb the conversation to PMs.
