Well depends on how good your aim is.. If you aim is good with the first shot, shotguns.. if you need severel shots to hit.. then take smgs.. shotguns and smgs are mostly used in the start.. but they are also good in late game, if used in the right situations..

Shotguns are way too inconsistent with the pellets hitting the target you're aiming at. I've shot someones foot with a pump shotty, and deal 50%-80% damage, other times, I aim at the chest and deal 10% HP damage. It's just too much of a guess whether your shots are going to actually go where you aim or not with them. Much easier to control a full auto SMG/AR or a burst M16.

Machine guns I prefer much more than rifles are technologically advanced.

Depends where I land. If I land School. I'd prefer a shotgun for the close quarter combat. If I land some random house, I'd rather a machine gun or anything that would be able to land shots on an enemy farther away.

When I land in I go for either a SMG (Uzi // vector) Or the 2 shot shogun. After that, the M4 with a 2x and a 8x scope with a suppressor and a triangle grip is the next thing I go for. Late game, I prefer a M24 and either a AUG or a Groza.

Depends on the situation, to be honest, shotguns are good at the start when no one has armour but at a later stage you would rather an SMG, even if its to carry attachments for your secondary. But usually I would go for double AR or AR SR.

Shotguns are way more powerful in very close range, machine guns are more versatile for every situation :)

I find that in the time it takes fr a person to hit me twice with a shotgun, I can very often mow them down with a vector of a microuzi before they get a chance to pull the second shot. Also shotguns are just inconsistent, and smgs have more potential range (aka homemade vss by doing a 4x silenced ump)

Definitely machine gun... Versatile throughout the whole game. Picking up an AR early game could mean you never have to replace it...

Completely agree, after that I would only recommend using an Auto Rifle (SCAR-L, AKM, M416, DP-28, etc.) and sniper combo, be it semi-auto or bolt action (Kar98, AWM, SKS, etc.).
