Is there any way to tell the diference between Blackwidow chromas,I know there was an older version with bad keys but don't know how to tell the diference

The 2014 one has Kailh (bad ones).
The 2015 one has Greetech (good ones).

On the back of the box, if it says 60M key clicks guaranteed it's a Kailh, and if its 80M its Greetech.

You can also take the keycap off the keyboard and post a pic here so we can determine it.

Couldn't have said it any better than Predator5

The difference is not the keys per se though, but rather the switches. Razer now uses a different mechanical switch manufacturer which adds benefits like an extended lifespan, among other things. They started out with Cherry, then went to Kailh, and now Greetech.

Just remove one of the keycaps and snap a shot for us.

BTW welcome to Insider Mr Big Stuff

Yes. My first Razer product. It's really a great keyboard.

Nice to heard that. Thanks for the info. I would like to see the Kailh one. Is there any photo of Razer keyboard with Kailh switches?

@Predator5 Thank you for showing me the photo. Now I realize my friend's BlackWidow Chroma is Kailh switches. No wonder I checked his and mine have different switch design, I thought Razer only changed the design.

Lol all BlackWidow X is Greetech. It's the older Razer BlackWidow Chroma that's Kailh.

Yes, that's why I didn't reply but just like the post. And actually I (Is it only me?) am waiting for @Mr Big Stuff to post his switch on his keyboard. If not then I think this problem was solved since you have posts the photo of the 2 types of switches.

How much of a better feel are the Greetech ones compared to the Kailh ones? I currently have the Kailh ones, but was thinking about picking up a blackwidow X. I use my keyboard every day at work for 8 hours a day as a programmer. Would it be worth to pick up the new ones? Do they feel any different or just last longer?

They are meant to last 20 million keystrokes more and sound slightly diferent

Thanks for all the help,I have checked my switches and unfortunately the are kalih,I can't get a photo of the writing because the text is too small and my phone cant focus on it but it says Kalih with their logo next to it

    Hi all,

I've just purchased a blackwidow chroma. The box says 60 million keystrokes. Does this mean I have the old switches? :slightly_sad:

I've removed the key cap but there is no triangle logo on the switch, only the word razer

  20. It seems that everywhere is still selling the 60million keystroke Black Widow Chroma. I just bought one yesterday from my local store, and it says 60million. And when I checked all other retailers from my country online, they are also 60million.

Can we confirm if the 60million is really the Kailh switches?
