I need to clean my BlackWidow again :) what are some tips and tricks you guys use to get that like new, fresh out the box clean? My current method is canned air and qtips.

If you'd like a deep clean, I recommend carefully removing the keycaps with a butter knife or some sort of flat object to help get underneath the keycaps so they can pop off without cracking and/or breaking. You can then put them into a bowl and soak them for a few minutes, you can add soap but it's not necessary, I've never tried it myself.

If you'd like something quick and easy then keep using your tactic of canned air and q-tips. It's an excellent way to quickly remove dirt or germs. Another thing that I do is take some disinfectant wipes and wipe the outer areas of the keyboard, not the keys - I use q-tips and canned air for the keycaps as well.

Also, try your hardest to keep away from oil, that's the hardest thing to remove from keyboards in my opinion.

I hope this helps a little, my best wishes to you on your cleaning adventures. :)

I'd get a keycap puller, to me its the fastest and safest way to remove the keycaps without damaging them to give your board a real good cleaning. I agree with the canned air and the q-tips, its what I use myself. Other then that, the soaking sounds good too although I've never tried it.

I wrote a response to this thread: best way to clean BlackWidow Chroma keycaps? and I'd recommend just reading that post. I pretty much covered everything I'd say here and provided a link to what I use to clean my keyboard. :)
