I'm sure this has been mentioned and discussed before, though I could just find one thread, here goes anyway...

Could we finally get the ability for labels/descriptions on the programmed keys, please?
I mean, the "SpeedPads" can end up being programmed quite differently for every game (otherwise you wouldn't really need different profiles) and also almost every game has different functionality for every key-map. So why on Earth didn't you make it so that you could label what function the key has?

You can take time to tweak how you program the keys all you want, but as soon as you go to another game you might need a reminder of what's different and there's no way to get that easily. You need to go look at the key-binds within the game, then look at where those keys are in your profile and that's just way too time-consuming.

I know you don't want to bother with such details, Razer, but it would show a lot of goodwill if you'd add convenient features like this. Or actually put them "back" in a way as this was already a standard feature with the Nostromo Profile Editor of the SpeedPad.

You could do this in a few different ways:

  • You could copy it from the way it was in the Nostromo Profile Editor, in that you could just change the name where it would normally say the key that has been programmed. But then you could still see the key by hovering over it or clicking it I believe (it has been a while).
  • You could just list the user-made labels alongside the device in the interface, much like the list of keys and buttons that's already there, but next to it. - If using the same list/panel, perhaps it would be good to be able to switch the view using the dropdown that's already there, if not with a button. Or you could show the user-made labels when hovering over the keys and their programming, both on the list-panel on the left side and the device-graphic in the central area.
  • What could probably be even more clear is if you'd just let us add labels using "text balloons" that are around the device's graphic and then lines connecting to the associated keys. - This would basically make it much like the Nostromo Profile Editor again, sans the lines, in that the descriptions are shown all around the device.

  • Or you could do it even more closely to the Nostromo Editor, in that when you hover over each button or label that it highlights both the key and label. This would mean that you'd need to hover over each one of them to see which one it is, though.

It could be a mix of all of the above of course. But what's really holding you back in adding features this day and age?

I'll include a screenshot of the old software, and you can get an idea of what it could look like in Synapse, in terms of your modernized version of course.

In any case, it would make the "gamer life" a LOT more convenient for those who do a lot of mapping with Synapse. - It's quite ironic how you boast about having the best "gamer" equipment while you skimp on the details for functionality and convenience.

I, like probably plenty of other users (your customers), would really find this useful and appreciate it.
